I worked at City of Grand Prairie full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Most people were a pleasure to work with.

    Cons

If you aren't used to the "city ways" then you may be in for a shock.

    Advice to Management

My manager did not make decisions but fielded them out. That's a really awful way to do business.

I worked at City of Grand Prairie full-time

    Pros

My former coworkers, and knowing I was helping families find their lost pets, as well as helping animals find their forever homes.

    Cons

Management was very cliquey-- They would go out on the weekends and only tell their favorite coworkers about the plans. Those "favorites" would have inside information about different things going on in the shelter while the rest of us were SOL. Also, the pay was subpar considering I have a BA and prior experience. Honestly, if you have anything above a Bachelor's don't waste your time and efforts in this department.

    Advice to Management

Stop acting like grade school kids with the cliques, and if you have something to say about/to someone say it to their face and not to your favorite coworkers.
