I have been working at City of Grapevine part-time

    Pros

Great atmosphere. I love my coworkers and the management.

    Cons

while the management is comprised of some great people and I love them, most of them only have recreation experience and education rather than management/business/marketing etc. Since the REC has grown from a tiny city outfit to a big operation there are some growing pains. Sometimes there are bad management decisions/policies.

    Pros

The city is full of employees that are incredibly friendly, and the job environment is a very close-knit place to work. Very enjoyble

    Cons

It takes forever to get hired anywhere in the city. It took me about 4 months from the time of my first interview until when I finally started on my first day.

    Advice to Management

Do a better job handling the human resources aspect of any job. It's really discouraging when it takes such a long time to even hear back about a position

I have been working at City of Grapevine full-time

    Pros

The City of Grapevine has an awesome family atmosphere. They are warm and welcome to new people. There are events throughout the year that they encourage employees from all the departments to attend.

    Cons

As with any government job, there are politics involved at times. But I have seen far worse in other places.

I worked at City of Grapevine full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Grapevine is a great city and easy to sell. There is so much to do and the people of the city are wonderful, for the most part.

    Cons

Worked every weekend for 3 months straight, while still expected to be in the office no less than 8-5 M-F. If traveled on business, you were expected back in the office immediately upon return even after international flights. For the major festivals, you could expect to work 16+ hour days and still had to work regular office hours. Do not ever expect to see your family - the CVB becomes your life. And the people who work there are very Stepford like - it's creepy.

    Advice to Management

Realize people should work to live, not live to work!

    Pros

    meeting some nice people steady

    Cons

Management does not listen to employees, Allows some employees to do some very bad things to others, not work and create very bad work atmosphere. Does not care enough about how they treat their employees. hard to get paid on time. Hire low paying employees . A very depressing place to work. Management will not respond to issues. A lot of internal problems going on. very unprofessional

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees better, listen to them and stop allowing some employees to cause so much trouble. Be loyal to the ones that have been there a long time and are hard workers. Pay more and on time.

    Cons

No cons. Great part time job.
