    Pros

    Good Benefits - Great hours

    Cons

Bad management - Doesn't give any opportunity for upper mobility.

    Advice to Management

Instead of hiding the problems, fix them. Upper management does not care for sexual harassment from male supervisors.

I have been working at City of Houston full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

There is room for growth with time, experience and education.

    Cons

The City of Houston does not keep its word, retirement management is not a 3rd as good as what is offered in smaller cities in Texas. Public Works and Engineering "Rights you Up" if you take more than 8 sick days in a year even if you have saved more than 100 days. at Retirement you can not even cash in on what you have saved. Houston has one of the oldest systems in Texas and as management reduces retirement how will they obtain good people to work here?

    Advice to Management

Turn over the Retirement system to TMRS, keep your word. Yes it increases taxes. Arlington Texas could afford Jerry World and Houston can not afford to keep its word on retirement programs.
