I worked at City of Mississauga Canada full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Awesome work environment with some great people, would gladly work there again if the opportunity came up

    Cons

Its a nice city, but a busy and expensive place to live. Cost of living Ontario is so out of wack depending on how close you live to GTA

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work, keep your people happy and they will keep working hard for you

I have been working at City of Mississauga Canada part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Very much a team environment, great hr and communications about hours/pay and you know what you're agreeing to when you sign the contract. Very easy to transfer to other facilities once hired.

    Cons

At some point communications with supervisors can be difficult but at any point if you feel there is a topic that needs to be discussed immediately they will make time for you.

    Advice to Management

Try to make part time staff feel less disposable, even though they are. Staff socials planned by employer would be nice.

    Pros

Above average pay. Room to move up (with time). Good management and coworkers.

    Cons

Shifts were very short (3 hours). We had to reapply each season to ensure a spot. Summers would be difficult as a new lifeguard as there were university students with more experience returning and looking for work.

    Advice to Management

Make shifts longer and provide more opportunities for new employees to keep their foot in the door during summer months.
