amazing employees, great new director and assistant director. they will surely turn things around

I worked at City of Norfolk (Virginia) full-time

    Pros

Supervisors aren't so much into micromanagement,

    Cons

Worked at one of the city departments. Rampant favoritism. Director had little previous experience supervising individuals and was allowed to degrade and belittle staff members. Numerous complaints but HR always sided with whoever was most important. Hostile atmosphere and very retaliatory if complaints are made. Don't want to disclose department in case I need to go back one day...after management changes.

    Advice to Management

Provide an anonymous survey to staff to see if they feel harassed or are being treated unfairly.
