I worked at City of Philadelphia

    Pros

Good benefits. The employee contribution is much less than other employers in the area. Convenient work location and friendly senior management.

    Cons

There is no flexibility in the schedule (no laptops since the city still doesn’t have internet. There were employees that had high school diplomas with no management responsibility making more than employees with Masters degrees with management responsibility (approx $15k gap). You can’t get anything done, you just work in circles. The majority of staff don’t do any work, so you can’t get anything done. Management acts like they want to change the culture but it becomes apparent that the culture will never change.
