    Pros

Pays pretty far above min wage for Maryland. Relatively easy to trade shifts and the hours are flexible.

    Cons

    Pros

The City of Rockville has a lot of departments with a lot of programs -- a good place to both live and work.

I have been working at City of Rockville, Maryland full-time

    Pros

First off, work hours are VERY flexible - you get to pick the times you want to work, whether it's 8 to 4, 9 to 5, etc- whatever is more convenient for you. Secondly, it's a government job so you get many holidays and days off! Thirdly (at least in my experience), your coworkers are all pleasant and mature professionals - no drama.

    Cons

No paid leave options for temporary, full-time workers (understandable but this potentially troublesome in the event of a blizzard or something); sometimes difficult to meet everyone in your department

    Advice to Management

Great work on keeping city workers happy, engaged, and feeling appreciated!

    Neutral Outlook

    Pros

You can choose what hours to work, making it flexible. Once scheduled, though, you must attend your shift or find someone to sub for you. Sick days and absences are frowned upon.

    Cons

No pay increases. Ever. Plenty of other pools to work at with better pay.

    Advice to Management

Having no raises de-motivates employees to put their best efforts forth.

I worked at City of Rockville, Maryland full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The position has Autonomy and lots of room for creativity. You able to set your own hours around City Hall's core hours of business hours.

    Cons

No real room for growth since most people stay in their positions for 20+ years. Not so much managements fault but just the cost of doing business in local government.

    Advice to Management

Enforce rules and policies equally to all members of staff. Just like any job people try to skirt around established rules with no real consequences.
