I worked at City of Springfield MO full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The benefits are actually fairly good. I’d say the retirement plan is the most competitive benefit they have along with the paid time off... you definitely sacrifice competitive (or even livable) wages for it though.

    Cons

The morale is the biggest con. It’s really hard to care about your job when others get away with not doing theirs with little to no consequences... they just pile the work on someone else willing to do it. Also, they claim no more than 3 family members can work here at one time but they’ve got way more than that from one family and one was even working with his cousin as his supervisor. I’m sure the morale is GREAT in...

    Advice to Management

Make morale more of a priority through integrity and fairness. Adhere to the policies in place and start listening to the ones who do the work. Start investing more in your employees so they’re not having to take second jobs just to make ends meet.
