    Positive Outlook

I have been working at City of Toronto Canada Fire Services full-time

    Pros

Largest fire service in Canada with very distinct neighborhoods. There's a little bit of everything you're looking for. Great city to work for.

    Cons

The department is regularly featured on the news for a lot of positive things but I feel we are also a target due to our city salary and benefits. Safety and lives should come first and then budgets.

    Advice to Management

Communication from upper management to the individual halls could be better in order to keep a similar standard across the city and to keep rumours from spreading.

I have been working at City of Toronto Canada Fire Services full-time

    Pros

High call volume, wide variety of emergencies, 2,000+ employees, excellent shift schedule, great pension and benefit package, long-term care of their employees.

    Cons

Not enough mandatory training sessions compared to other departments, training is mostly done online, which I find is not as effective.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on training, push fire fighters toward becoming more involved in the union and charity/volunteer events.
