inter-personal relationships with among certain employees were strained due to differences in perspective.

I have been working at Civica full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The great things about working for Civica are the culture, people, integrity and passion but also its success. I've never worked anywhere else that values it's people as much whilst at the same time offering amazing prospects. Everyone at Civica is committed, driven and professional but also just great to work with.

    Cons

I honestly can't think of anything, some might not like the speed of change but it's that speed of change that has helped us succeed and grow, year on year.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing

I worked at Civica full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good training - access to Pluralsight and classroom-based learning and opportunities for self-learning.
Plenty of social activities for which people are actively involved.
Worked alongside some extremely talented people.

    Cons

    Pay is lower than average.
Was offered a job with promises of pay rises and frequent promotions but pay basically remained static over 2 years, so all the hard work put in and overtime didn't really pay off at all.

    Advice to Management

    Pay more.

I have been working at Civica full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I have been here a week, doesnt like much right?

However The job i just come from in a bank, then this place is like a breath of fresh air to me, all of the staff in the housing management department have been purely helpful and friendly, everyone has a smile or a kind word for you,

Loads of free tea and coffee, xmas party paid for from what i hear and free completely free,

Induction to civica has been amazing and i have been given a list of objectives and left to see them through, any help i need i have been asked to basically ask anyone in housing as they are a great team of people,

If you want to progress and make a career then this is the place for you, i dont have any bad words and i will write another review after 6 months

    Cons

None so far, could do with some nescafe azera in the kitchen.

I have been working at Civica full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

It's a great place to work and the people make a difference.

    Cons

Salary ranges are lower than average for a city centre location. There are numerous agencies sending vacancies that offer a higher salary to that being paid and management often don't realise what staff are being exapected to do in their roles thinking staff are worth less. Often tasks are taken away from teams in a restructuring of work processes. This leads to staff losing work they enjoy and becoming deskilled for a role they hold and once did.

    Advice to Management

Keep up with localised pay for simulate roles. Listen and learn what your staffs roles actually are and stop taking work away from those who enjoy what they do as it leads to staff becoming de skilled.
Don't restructure work process just because other teams work that way, it often isn't the best way.

I have been working at Civica full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great culture, very open, some very capable and fun people to work with. We seem to get a lot done while having a great time doing it. Everybody knuckles down when needed and seems to appreciate some tasks are going to be less enjoyable than others. No back stabbing or blame culture. Just a really fun, chilled and cool place to work which can also at times provide very challenging and rewarding work.

Absolutely excellent work life balance and very convenient location a few minutes from train station and lots of shops for lunch or to do some shopping on our 1 hour lunch break which you absolutely can take.

Decent benefits excluding pay. Nothing ground breaking but very good sick pay, long term sickness cover (80% for life!), OK pension, healthcare etc.

    Cons

formal training is poor, very scarce. You can have any book you want and they will buy it for you but you are expected to learn mostly through self study and on the job. There often is time between projects to do just that.

Salaries are good for graduates, but are a little slow to respond to changing markets and tend to lag behind the market. They are not bad, but competitors do tend to pay a little more. People stay because they are generally happy rather than for the money which isn't a bad thing.

Sometimes spend long times on the bench in between projects. This is probably true of all employers of this type though and not a criticism of Civica. you do get paid when on the bench and often get to do some research or self learning if not involved in helping out with other tasks.

    Advice to Management

Do watch out for changing market salaries, some of the offers we get are very difficult to ignore! Look at training, particularly of graduates but continuation training for the more experienced guys too.

Finally, need to sort out all of the HR systems to simplify and make more coherent.
