    Pros

As a women I loved being able to sell accessories! Also doing ear pearcings was a cool new skill to have.

    Cons

There really weren't any cons. It's like most jobs if you do good you can move up on the company. I guess if I have to say something the shipments were large.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing good.

I worked at Claire's Stores part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    The 50% discount was great!
It's a fun job that depending on the store and your title will be easy.

    Cons

If a smaller or understaffed you get very over worked. You could be working alone most of your shifts. there is a lot expected of you, and you will be blamed and called out for it. At least my district manager did not care or even try to help staff my store, she only cared about the million dollar store.

    Advice to Management

Don't just care about the million dollar stores because it is not them alone that make the district goals. Also, don't overwork the staff or expect one person to do a job that 3 people should be doing. Not everything can be done in one night by one person. Understand that it is hard to stay on the floor attending to customers, get paperwork done, clean, organize the back room, finish shipment, and change signs all in one night. And in an understaffed store, don't expect the third key to fulfill the duties of an assistant manager and don't pay them accordingly

I worked at Claire's Stores full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Piercing little kids' ears and helping them pick earrings. The merchandise is cool and you get a 50% employee discount. At the store level people are friendly and helpful.

    Cons

High turnover. Management expects miracles. Both on the corp level and in the chain of command you have to fight for reasonable requests and maintenance. Overall the company is cheap and does not value or respect its workers.
