I worked at Clark Memorial Hospital full-time (Less than a year)

Management, staff, pay, schedule, flexibility. Everything about Clark is wonderful. I can't say enough good things about Clark.

    Cons

Employee parking in the back fills up quick.

I have been working at Clark Memorial Hospital full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

People are awesome, location is great

    Cons

Pay is below surrounding hospitals, WAY to concerned with productivity instead of patient care.

    Advice to Management

    Pay at least market rate.

I have been working at Clark Memorial Hospital full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Pretty good benefits, smaller hospital, the Life Point seems to be taking great strides to improve hospital equipment and appearance.

    Cons

If you are not a nurse you don't matter. Your pay doesn't matter, being over worked doesn't matter. And anyone can talk down to you and say horrible things and get away with it, especially the RNs to any one they deem below them.

Management will ask your opinion, but pretty sure it is not actually taken into account. Over worked and understaffed on every level.

Pay is not the greatest at the moment, but they are also promising change so we will see.

Management secretive and it makes the employee paranoid and uneasy about the future.

    Advice to Management

Nurses are not the end all be all. You need to focus on other levels of the hospital as well, you have a lot of very unhappy employees that are a heart beat away of walking out because of all the things listed above. People can only take so much.

I worked at Clark Memorial Hospital full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You can gain experience for a better job, some of the coworkers are amazing.

    Cons

High CNA to patient ratio (CCU staffing matrix was changed and rather than TWO Critical Care Techs per 14 patients, there is only ONE.), management expects too much, some RNs expect too much, high work load, rude patients, high turnover, times for inservices only cater to day shift so night shifters are screwed over, cafeteria isn't open on weekend nights.

    Advice to Management

Hire more people so your employees' workload isn't so intense.

I have been working at Clark Memorial Hospital full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Sincere staff and administration that is accessible and responsive. I have the ability to be creative and use my strengths here which I appreciate.

    Cons

Salaries are not market competitive for bedside staff although HR has been creative in trying to come up with complete packages which try to make up the difference. Sometimes leadership can be reactive as opposed to proactive.

    Advice to Management

    None

    Pros

Wonderful team-oriented atmosphere where the patient always comes first. National support on a local level with focus on community health.

    Cons

Salaries are good for the southern Indiana area but hard to compete with the Louisville market. Need more young talent and leadership.

I have been working at Clark Memorial Hospital full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Still has a small, hometown feel to it. Free parking. Free wellness type check ups.

    Cons

salaries rank at bottom for the area, quality leaders are leaving or retiring, while replacements lack need skills to lead. Benefits are at the bottom for the area. Training seems to be an after thought.

    Advice to Management

Become bold, heads up leaders again. Since purchased by LifePoint, leaders have lost their will to lead, and chose to follow.

I have been working at Clark Memorial Hospital full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Small town feel just across the bridge

    Cons

Salary is way below average, woefully understaffed, way behind the times in care, and the benefits suck.

    Pros

Coworkers look out for each other. Free lunches. Fast paced makes days go quick.

    Cons

Pay raises are slim. HR slow to reply to issues.
