Pros
Clark Schaefer Hackett has been incredibly good to me over my 35 years that I have been employed here. They treat employees with respect. I have witnessed Management helping fellow emloyees who may be having personal issues outside of the office. It feels like a family here.
Cons
Tax Season is busy and you may have to work more hours. Its difficult for the Admin staff to work from home.

Pros
Flexible schedule, pretty much as long as you do 40hrs/ week it doesn't matter how you get there. You can come in early or stay late. Many people do ~9hr days Mon - Thurs and take half days on Fridays without needing PTO. The pay, PTO and other benefits are very good. The work is challenging and interesting. There are a fair number of young people in the firm so it helps with making friends as well.
Cons
Long hours during tax busy season, though this is to be expected at a CPA firm. Some of the shareholders believe they are 'above' the firm initiatives and sometimes management is not very transparent or doesn't follow through with initiatives. This can be very frustrating.

Great work environment with motivated people
Cons
Long hours during busy season but that is normal for any public accounting firm

Thanks for your feedback! We’ve heard this feedback from others as well, so we recently implemented a CPA Achievement Program. We know how important the exam is for you (it’s important to us too!) and we want to make it easier for our associates to earn their certification. We now offer reimbursement for exam review courses, compensation for time spent sitting for the exam, and financial rewards for passing.

Pros
I work for the IT Group at Clark, Schaefer, Hackett & Co. and I would like to share my own opinion about Clark, Schaefer, Hackett & Co. from an IT perspective. To keep it simple: Clark, Schaefer, Hackett & Co. has the best IT Group I have had the pleasure of working for. CSH's IT Group's #1 mission is to provide the best possible Client Service to our Firm employees and our external clients. This in itself does not sound any different than other companies IT mottos, however Clark, Schaefer, Hackett & Co. raises the bar significantly. I can confirm that every single person in our IT Group is 100% focused on making sure our Employees and Clients receive the best possible IT service. We recruit, hire and train individuals who have a passion for IT and for providing excellent customer service. Every employee in our Firm, regardless of position, who submits a request for IT support, will receive support within 30 minutes. Over 90% of our IT support tickets are resolved within 20 minutes. Here at Clark, Schaefer, Hackett & Co. we strive to operate "Above the Line”. Working for this company has been the best position in my IT career and I truly enjoy my position.
Cons
From an IT perspective, the only CON would be longer hours during Tax busy season. Naturally, working for one of the top Accounting firms in the country, Tax Season is a very busy time of year. All of our Tax Professional are working longer hours and more days. As a result, we extend our service hours, work longer days and work on Saturday mornings up until April 15th. Working more could be considered a CON, however, we are helping our Tax Professionals to keep working efficiently and we are all a Team. Even though hours do get longer for a couple months during busy season, the hours do slow down during other periods of the year. To be quite honest, I don't mind the hours and the schedule, however I want to provide some form of feedback for this field so this is what I wanted to share. It's really not bad at all though.
