      Pros

      People genuinely care about one another and there isn’t the back stabbing feel like I experienced at the Big 4. Leaders are very visible and accessible, and there is a culture of wanting to do the right thing for employees, clients and our communities. In my experience, most everyone lives our values of Respect, Excellence, Accountability and Leadership. Pay is competitive. Benefits are excellent.

      Cons

      Lots of change in trying to remove silos that naturally occur when many companies are merged or acquired. No clear reporting structure within Tax and Audit structure makes people feel like they don’t know where to turn for support at times. Not much diversity, though I don’t blame recruiting efforts or management for that. A few old-school shareholders refuse to come in to the 21st century in their ways of thinking.

          Pros

          Pay is adequate and raises are more common than not. An average annual raise is about 3%. The firm offers reimbursement of professional necessities such as networking events and CPE.

          Cons

          There is a diseased corporate culture. Despite spending 7 figures on a consultant to improve the culture, the problem has not been fixed. The tone at the top is pure greed; therefore, employees are only valued as cogs in the machine. There is no human element to the culture. If you produce bucks, great. If you don't, the shareholders do not care "why". Your family and your health are not the firm's priority. The only priority in life is the firm.

            CSH is an amazing company, the atmosphere is amazing. The benefits are some of the best. Anywhere and Anytime work policy.

              Pros

              The pay is really good. A few managers were super nice and open. They really want to get to know you outside of work. They are very flexible regarding your work environment.

              Cons

              Quite a few cliques. Communication was lacking. The older shareholders and former shareholders are super nice; however, the younger employees were uninviting.

                  Pros

                  Pros: They really try to help as much as possible and are very open. Even partners sat down and walked me through things that were way below their pay grade. Everyone at the Columbus location was really nice and I enjoyed my experience.

                  Cons

                  Cons: Typical busy season overtime could put you at 50-70 hours/week. Of course, you won't have a life during busy season but you'll end up with a ton of cash.

                      Pros

                      I worked for the consulting division, Clark Schaefer Consulting, for almost 4 years. Lot has changed over the years but flexibility and work-life balance were great Pros.

                      Cons

                      Leadership of the organization was great until the beginning of 2022. After that moment, culture became toxic, pay and compensation was terrible and leadership did not provide the tools and support to be successful. Leadership doesn't listen to their employees and ultimately may be the downfall of the division of consulting.

                      I have applied for a Graduate Financial Planning Analyst & and I have been invited for an assessment& interview, but when I looked back on the JD I have just noticed that they ask for a 2:1 degree , but I have a 2:2 ( due to some personal issues I had 3rd year) However in my CV the I didn’t mention my grade and during the application process I wasn’t asked. What do I do now? Just let the hiring manager know about directly or mention it during the interview first thing? Whats best solution?

                      Hi! Looking for some advice regarding hiring processes. I completed 2 interviews with the company and they emailed to say they "want to put me forward for the job" and asked for references, passport, and for me to do a background check. I didn't hear anything for a week, so then emailed to check on my application status. They responded saying they would get back at the end of that week. Its been 2 weeks since. I emailed last week to ask for an update and have not received a response. Thoughts?

                      ComEd

                      Got booted from my former position about 4 years ago, which I LOVED. I have the impression I was "kept" in sympathy. Now that I have my feet beneath me, I feel like I'm running in place. Over the past 2 years, I've probably applied for about 100 positions in other departments. True, a few were unlikely moonshots, but for the most part I didn't misrepresent myself. Am I the world's worst interviewer? Otherwise.. shouldn't I have been accepted elsewhere, by choice?
