Pros
Flexible schedule, pretty much as long as you do 40hrs/ week it doesn't matter how you get there. You can come in early or stay late. Many people do ~9hr days Mon - Thurs and take half days on Fridays without needing PTO. The pay, PTO and other benefits are very good. The work is challenging and interesting. There are a fair number of young people in the firm so it helps with making friends as well.
Cons
Long hours during tax busy season, though this is to be expected at a CPA firm. Some of the shareholders believe they are "above" the firm initiatives and sometimes management is not very transparent or doesn't follow through with initiatives. This can be very frustrating.

Pros
Nice people to work with. Big enough to feel challenged but small enough to not feel overwhelmed.
Cons
Very conservative work environment. Slow to role out newer technologies.

You're right, things rust...things become stagnant when you stand still. Sometimes it's "buckle up and hold on" but I'll take that over stagnation!

Pros
It was a good place to work and i enjoyed working with all of the people in the office and on my engagement teams.
Cons
A lot of the work for me at least was repetitive or unchallenging which i disliked and would like to be challenged more.

Pros
No reason to work here. Go find better opportunities that guide and help you grow.
Cons
If you are white then you will prosper and do well in this company as all the higher upper in-charges are all white old men. I have not seen a company that has no diverse staff at until Clark Schaefer Hackett. Besides this, Favoritism is taken place. Not only that but specific people will talk behind your back. TOXIC. They want you to slave alway and not even give any sort of recognition. Its saddening to see diverse people not able to prosper and grow within this company. Avoid this company at all cost.

We are sorry that you have not enjoyed your time with CSH. The diversity issue that you refer to is an issue that has been systemic in accounting where diverse populations have been historically underrepresented in university accounting programs, which of course affects all other levels of an organization. You’re not aware undoubtedly of the multitude of programs or our involvement in diverse organizations throughout our footprint, but we are actively and dynamically engaged in trying to impact systemic issues that have existed in accounting in general for many, many years. We would also suggest that diversity includes a wonderfully broad spectrum of individuals that you may not “see” every day, including our friends in the LGBTQIA community, veterans, and those who suffer from a disability who benefit from our work anytime anywhere policy. We will have to object to the suggestion that we “remove” anyone “old” as a matter of course. Those over 40 are also in a protected class and suffer a tremendous amount of discriminatory impact in the workplace. We will continue to work tirelessly to build a culture where all people will feel welcomed and can thrive.

Pros
Public accounting is stressful enough. The culture and people here make it worthwhile. How successful you are depends on your effort. Staff from all levels are encouraged to take on responsibility and make decisions. Definitely a plus for individual development. Flexibility here is understood. Management gets that people are adults and can get their work done.
Cons
Annual increases for salary could be better. But money isn’t everything.
