I have been working at Classy full-time for more than a year

    Pros

-Culture is UNMATCHED! Classy is a dedicated family working towards a common goal to mobilize and empower the world for good. You can feel this in the office on a day to day basis and with the people you work with. -Growing recognition within the nonprofit and software industry. We are quickly becoming a "household name" within the social sector. -Employees are very collaborate and strive to hit goals as a team. Everyone is there to help each other. -Company has recently invested heavily in personal/professional development in every department, not just sales. -Feedback is heard from the bottom to the top, and acted upon quickly. CEO and VP level has an open door policy. -Classy strives to promote from within by rewarding those that work hard, attain goals, and take initiative. Promotions happen almost every other week. -Product is best in class and you can stand behind what we are asking nonprofits to invest in. -Work life balance with 15 days PTO, numerous company holidays, and company outings. -Best office in San Diego overlooking Petco Park (open floor workplan, unlimited coffee, beer, dogs, you name it) If you're looking for a place to work hard and call 'home', I would 100% suggest Classy. You are committing to be a part of something bigger than yourself and ultimately bigger than Classy. We are striving to tackle some of the world's biggest problems and you can't find that almost anywhere else!

    Cons

-Understand that working at Classy is still very much a startup. As with any growing company, changes are frequent. You must acknowledge and take ownership of the changes and be ready/willing to overcome them. Those that can take these changes in stride see tremendous payoff! -No 401K match

I worked at Classy full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Beautiful office, great view, dog-friendly, young & hungry sales team. Great resume builder. A place to cut your teeth on the sales floor if you're okay with a little emotional abuse in exchange for work experience.

    Cons

No stability, unprofessional managers, unrealistic job load expectations and no work/life balance. Goals were constantly changing and unreachable within expected time frames. The judgement was unreal. Managers unabashedly bad-mouthed low-performing employees or those that quit from the constant pressure to put out. Sales team was routinely pacified with pizza parties, ridiculous sales spiffs, and shares of company "stock" in lieu of raises or commissions. Routine demotions, high-turnover rate and layoffs galore. HR is a joke. They're aware of the issues with management but can't/won't do anything about it -- as was made abundantly clear in my exit interview. Glad to be heading to greener pastures with an employer that actually provides a 401k match and a fosters a culture of respect. Avoid at all costs.

    Classy Response

    Sr. Manager, Recruiting

We admittedly grappled with finding the sweet spot of targets and expectations in sales and other departments. We have found our stride and adhere to a much more disciplined goal-setting process that has us marching to the beat of the same drum. It is disheartening to hear that you felt apathy from the people team. If you're open to sharing more I'd like to chat nvance@classy.org. I'd encourage you to reach out. Thank you.

    I worked at Classy full-time

    Pros

-Incredible product for the SMB space (not so much for MM and ENT) -Great office (dog friendly too!) -Awesome coworkers

    Cons

Classy's Sales Leadership Team is seriously a disaster. The Board of Directors needs to step in and fast! Things just keep getting worse. Dismal customer retention rate, severe micro-management, unreasonable quota, ever-changing quota and lower commission pay out; sales employees can't leave soon enough! They've significantly over-hired, and foolishly continue to hire thinking that will lead to increased sales, however, working off a recycled account list that's been harassed by countless Classy employees before you is NOT going to work. Very low base pay; you have to fight for a raise, and will likely be threatened along the way for bringing up salary. Leadership will seem offended you asked to get paid your worth. No 401K match. Constantly blame things on "being a startup" rather than learning from their mistakes or making sound business decisions (hence the need for the BoD to step in).

I have been working at Classy full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I've been with Classy for over a year now and I'm still energized and excited to be a part of this team. The best thing about working here is the culture - peers are friendly, senior leadership is accessible, and there are a lot of promotions from within. There has been no turnover in leadership the entire time I have been here which is almost unbelievable for a 225+ person company.

    Cons

We grew really fast so some changes were trial and error. We switched around the sales teams which was an adjustment but it seems to have ultimately worked out well. No 401K matching.

I have been working at Classy full-time

    Pros

Forward-thinking tech company that values its employees (regularly referred to as "Family"), its customers (nonprofit organizations of all sizes), and its mission. Management is extremely open and accessible, with transparency being a key focal point. Opportunity and encouragement for professional and personal growth is all around and yours for the taking. There's always something going on, never a moment to be bored with such a smart, talented, diverse and driven team. Great company culture and awesome office environment - Petco Park and Coronado Views + office pups, cold brew on tap, regularly catered lunches, Brain Food Fridays and solid benefits. Classy takes its core values to heart and operates from a place of integrity - too often a rarity these days.

    Cons

Currently no 401K matching, but have no doubt we'll get there.

I have been working at Classy full-time

    Pros

Great collection of dedicated people who work really hard. If you don't want to -- it's not the place for you. It offers a place where you will be challenged, have a greater sense of purpose, have fun and be learning everyday.

    Cons

Fast paced start up - growing quickly - processes to support the growth are still evolving. 401k matching not yet available.

I have been working at Classy full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I have never been this happy working in my life! From the first day I started at Classy the experience has been incredible! This is my first job working alongside non-profits and I wish that I would have started here years ago. I can not speak highly enough about the on-going training, transparency from management, impact of the platform, and comradery between one another! I truly believe that Classy has made me a happier person, not because it is a great company (which it is), but because I speak to incredible people EVERYDAY that are trying to change humanity for the better. Organizations that are Building schools, helping abused animals, feeding a town, cleaning the ocean, helping families with free education, providing water wells in Africa are just some of the people that we connect with on a day to day basis. I think that 2017 is going to be a great year for Classy and I can not wait to see what's in store for us next!

    Cons

No 401k matching as of today, but that will change in the future.

I have been working at Classy full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Interesting work - you work with really inspirational nonprofits, and most of the clients I talk to are a delight. - Fantastic and supportive co-workers and management on my team. Everyone here is passionate, intelligent, motivated, and kind. - Beautiful office setting. I genuinely enjoy being here because the surroundings are so great. - Compensation is fair and the process for bonuses is transparent. - Lots of opportunities to be social, but I personally never feel pressured to. - Great time off (holidays, half days, vacation, VTO, maternity!). Your managers truly care about your having a life outside of work, and care about your productivity, not seeing "butts in seats." - Transparent company at all levels. The CEO candidly and frequently shares financials/plans/successes and setbacks. - EXCELLENT recruiting, hiring, training, and on-boarding.

    Cons

    - Open office environment can be loud/distracting at times (phone conversations, music, dogs...) - Process and opportunities for potential advancement could be clearer - No 401K match - For a company so committed to social impact, Classy is overwhelmingly White.

I have been working at Classy full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There is something to be said about the people that work at Classy. I have yet to meet another group of individuals who are so genuine and great to be around. Each person here is different in their own way, but the mix of personalities seems to work so well. The leadership team is extremely transparent and really do whatever they can to figure out solutions to the company growing pains. They actively listen to the individual problems of each employee and work to make everyone as comfortable as possible. The office is incredible and really does have the relaxed atmosphere that many companies strive for. The fun perks and office setting are actually there for the employees and not just something to win over potential candidates. Great PTO policies and you actually get to use your days off (unlike other companies where you have unlimited PTO but are shunned for taking vacations). I have sincerely found a home here and would recommend this job to anyone.

    Cons

401K matching would be nice but it's not a make or break.
