I have been working at Clayton Homes full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great benefits, amazing culture at corporate, training, base salary.

    Cons

You have extra responsibilities not specifically said in the interview. Moving furniture, and odd things. Much of this depends on what store you are at.

    Advice to Management

Keep a closer eye on GM’s. The culture at corporate seems amazing but the GM’s aren’t always on board. Can be very belittling, rude, and inappropriate.

I worked at Clayton Homes full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great benefits, matching 401k and an awesome culture

    Cons

Takes a while to build a pipeline, NPS affects sales when other departments are lacking

    Advice to Management

Stop relying on PLC’s to train new consultants. Foster a culture of learning at the HC.

I worked at Clayton Homes full-time

    Pros

Clayton Homes is a well manufactured decent product.

    Cons

Tge Location I workes at was incredibly unprofessionally run, there were no codes of conduct that were acceptable for all people, certain employees got a very different standard and were allowed to be late; miss work, dress inappropriately, act inappropriately, no sales and keep their jobs Etc because of the relationship with the manager it was not a good experience. This manager was willing to lose his good selling profit making employees to keep his close friendship with this one person who was not doing their job.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of this manager if you haven't already he's more concerned with making nice with certain employees than doing his job

I have been working at Clayton Homes

    Pros

    - Salary plus commissions - Sunday plus 1 other day off a week

    Cons

    - Management often asks employees to perform borderline unethical tasks - Customer Service after NPS call is non-existant - Often places needs of manager over that of sales staff - Produces poor quality homes and charges a premium for horrible craftsmanship - Indipendant thinking viewed as against the company and unacceptable - Must work all major holidays with exception of christmas day, new year, indipendance day and thanksgiving day

    Advice to Management

This company needs undercover employees to spend time at each store and truely evaluate how business is conducted at the Home Center Level. I would estimate that atleast 10-15% of all home centers are being told to steer customers, holding service until a client gives a 10 on NPS, and have skilled employees seeking different employment

I have been working at Clayton Homes full-time for less than a year

    Pros

If you live in the south or even in Colorado you can do really well with Clayton Homes

    Cons

Salt Lake City Utah has a really slow market, land in the city is really expensive and to find land is a real challenge

    Advice to Management

It would really be more conducive for the company to purchase a track of land so people would see the value of buying a home and land together

I have been working at Clayton Homes full-time

    Pros

Great potential for money, especially in the right locations. Very customer oriented business, with checks and balances for service quality. Great training and trip incentives. Working with people is generally great, and it's nice to help people realize their home ownership.

    Cons

Can be tough if you work in an area that doesn't get more customer traffic, so it can be challenging to get leads at times. Lots of promotional events that are very complicated, and hard to explain to customers.

    Advice to Management

Extend all of your workshops to all employees. They need to let individual Home Centers decide on advertising goals. Especially for the areas that have Home Centers that are located close to one another.
