    Easy- You know exactly what to do, come in, and do it.

    Not hard to learn.

    Good place to start and some upward mobility

    Cons

    Lower pay for this type of work

    Extremely dull, you will rarely do anything different day to day

    Pros

    Learning opportunity. Good managers are available but not plentiful

    Cons

    If manager above you has poor sense of managing job costs for construction on your deals, your salary will be affected adversely.

    Advice to Management

    Monitor your managers with anonymous surveys, not quarterly reports. Takes to long for numbers to reveal a problem. Give district managers ability to execute dolutions. The district Mgr level was usually folks were usually quite good.

    If you want to do something outside the box there will be many barriers and you'll have to do it on top of an already heavy workload.
