I have been working at Clayton Homes full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

They are an amazing company to work for, They have great benefits, good hours and are a family oriented company. We are encouraged to work hard and get paid for it. I can't imagine working anywhere else. I have been lucky enough to work for them for 20 years and hope to work 20 more. They take really good care of their customers and care about every home we sell.

    Cons

We do work in all kinds of weather.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work

I have been working at Clayton Homes full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great for fast paced people who love constructive jobs for good causes. Great benefits and pay scale and great management compared to anywhere else I've worked. This job is a great opportunity for knowledge and skills training and team building. I am great full to be a part of it and love my job. Keep building!

    Cons

Moving up is on you and what you do and make of your work decides on if you'll make it home before dinner is cold. If you can't take the heat stay out of the plant I'd say.

    Advice to Management

Conduct a better way of initiating department head counts. I notice the lack of cross trained people and we need back ups when people are out sick or whatever may be.

Some bosses hardly know what they are put in charge of.
    Everything is winging it.

Hire bosses that aren't personal friends with upper management.

    Pros

Employee-centric environment with on-site cafeteria, gym and exercise programs to maintain healthy life, work balance.

    Cons

Employee to work ratio is lean - sometimes too lean requiring multiple position coverage for extended periods so primary job function is not only focus.

    Advice to Management

Don't ignore employee departures - might want to consider 'exit interview' process to improve work procedures and standards

I worked at Clayton Homes full-time

    Pros

Clayton Homes is a well manufactured decent product.

    Cons

Tge Location I workes at was incredibly unprofessionally run, there were no codes of conduct that were acceptable for all people, certain employees got a very different standard and were allowed to be late; miss work, dress inappropriately, act inappropriately, no sales and keep their jobs Etc because of the relationship with the manager it was not a good experience. This manager was willing to lose his good selling profit making employees to keep his close friendship with this one person who was not doing their job.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of this manager if you haven't already he's more concerned with making nice with certain employees than doing his job
