I worked at Clayton Homes full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good benefits, decent people at the home centers. Not bad for training pay

    Cons

You work every day for 10-12 hours and they usually don't even have a home center available for you to take over.

    Advice to Management

Sexual harassment training, financials training, also screen some of the new hires a little better. I worked with some criminals.

    I worked at Clayton Homes

    Pros

Great atmosphere with friendly coworkers Fantastic cafeteria, super healthy options Clean gym with incentives to work out Decent internal mobility Good benefits (health, 401k match, dental, etc)

    Cons

Because the company is starting to get older, some processes are becoming inefficient. Certain departments and positions are only filled externally. Pay depends a lot on company performance, so you have to accept variability in your income, which can be uncomfortable.

    Advice to Management

Stay skeptical, keep looking for improvements

    Pros

Clear expectations, steady workload, good benefits, good hours,

    Cons

There is a definite us vs them atmosphere between management and shop labor. Pay scale is very much slanted towards management. Communication and planning is poor.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to work more with planning. a company this size should have production scheduled out at least 3 to 4 weeks.

I worked at Clayton Homes full-time for more than a year

    Pros

For this industry, the compamy has good benefits.

    Cons

Longer, unnecessary hours, than anyone else in the industry. Not many people want to buy a home at 7pm! Those who do could be scheduled an appointment.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. Take care of your employees and they will take care of you.
