I worked at Clayton Williams Energy full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Quarterly Reviews, progressive feedback, family type atmosphere, great work environment. Great platform to grow and learn. Great teamwork aspect.

      Cons

Pay not quite as high as some other companies. When you have one person not pulling their weight, management has a hard time getting rid of the dead weight. No paid Maternity leave. Not a great place to work in accounting if you are a new mom because of the overtime.

      Advice to Management

Paid maternity leave is a big deal, please work on that, using all of your vacation and sick time isn't good enough.

      No opinion of CEO

I worked at Clayton Williams Energy full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Small revenue accounting department, true sense of teamwork, open door policy with supervisors, great overall company attitude, great people to work with.

      Cons

The overtime can get to you at times, papercuts from check stuffing are awful, if one person doesn't pull their weight... it's very hard to get rid of them.

      Advice to Management

Getting rid of the dead weight in the departments will pick up morale in the department and help the overall attitude of the other employees.

I worked at Clayton Williams Energy for more than a year

      Pros

Small company atmosphere with what appears to be friendly people.

      Cons

CWE is a family based business dripping in nepotism. The right hand had no idea what the left hand was doing from a total lack of communication unless you were a family member.

      Advice to Management

Hire managers outside of the family

        Negative Outlook

I worked at Clayton Williams Energy

        Pros

Great atmosphere to work at, management very hands-on, team setting, small staff for a branch office, close to home,

        Cons

Closed office due to downturn in oil and gas prices, lack of vision for the branch office with experienced staff to continue operations for company in a specific area

        Advice to Management

Small staff in branch office had potential to continue operations even with salary adjustments to compensate for falling oil and gas prices

I worked at Clayton Williams Energy for more than 3 years

        Pros

Great people to work with, fairly stable work until 2015 market crash, cares about families and life outside of work.

        Cons

Some people in management aren't very knowledgeable. Day rate wasn't that great compared to other companies, but a cheaper day rate kept us in work longer than others.

        Advice to Management

You should advance those who are knowledgeable and experienced.
