I worked at Clear Channel part-time

    Pros

Nice coworkers and supervisors. A very well run broadcast operation with plenty of support from engineering and maintenance departments.

    Cons

As on-air talent in San Francisco, pay was capped at $20 per hour. This was before they unionized, so I doubt sag-aftra is able to help very much. Most employees hours were kept below 30 hours per week comma making us neligible for health insurance.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your people, and your people will take care of you.

I worked at Clear Channel part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Part time work. Short hours.
Fun people in the Promo Dept.
Your work load is half in an office and half outside at local businesses. Time to see the sunshine and get fresh air, since there are no windows in the building.
You can wear anything you want. No dress code whatsoever.

    Cons

Only part time work with no opportunity to improve.
Terrible hours. Work 7 days a week for 3 hours each. No consistency in hours or days off.
    Hard to get time off.
    Manager can be unprofessional.
Only part time so no benefits and no chance of ever seeing full time.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees like they are important and not completely replaceable.

    Pros

Opportunity to network with many accomplished colleagues or partners, well-known station, fun events, looks good on a resume

    Cons

You do your daily intern tasks, but it is hard to learn anything as management does not take much time to actually teach you about the business outside of the repetitive daily grind.

    Advice to Management

Push interns out of their comfort zone more and allow them to be more involved in challenging assignments. Check in more and help teach valuable skills that they can take into other workplaces.
