I worked at Clear Channel full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company is great & I loved majority of my co-workers. They had great perks. The marketing and promotions departments were amazing & would be more geared to my line of work. If I could I would work in another department such as the marketing, PR or in promotions. Majority of the AM personalities are amazing & I became friends with them. Overall, it was a great entertainment experience.

    Cons

The sales department was a hard place to work with. It was cut throat and not a place for me. I would work in any other department.

    Advice to Management

Sales be more aware of your staff. Remember that your support staff is trying to help as fast as they could. Some AE's are really rude and make the work environment a horrible place to be in. This creates horrible productivity because people don't want to work when they're treated like nothing.

I worked at Clear Channel full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

not the hardest of daily tasks but that can also be a con in terms of getting mundane, although there were interns to help with the more frivolous tasks. radio work felt "cool" and there was a work hard, play hard team environment.

    Cons

growth within the company seemed difficult only in terms of time, it seemed as if i would have to wait forever to move up but that may have just been the . also, long work hours because there was a lot to be done, but again, the work itself wasn't difficult so not that much of a con

    Advice to Management

pay more attention to employees in terms of incentives, allow growth to be more possible!!

I worked at Clear Channel as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Work with radio personalities, great staff and fellow interns, meet artists, concerts, and other events. Casual work environment.

    Cons

Long standing work hours for major events/concerts, occasionally lots of down time in office, no formal training about how to carry out duties (must learn on the go), sometimes coordinators and other supervisors play favorites.

    Advice to Management

Give some orientation training for interns (i.e. phone greetings because multiple radio stations' promotions are handled by one offce), keep the favoritism in check, and give more responsibility to those interns who ask and can handle more work to demonstrate abilities for potential hire after internship is completed/ or when they have graduated.

I worked at Clear Channel as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Good to put on resume.

    Cons

Not enough experience in field interested in.
Part-timers horror stories made me think again about possibly applying for a position as a Promotions Assistant.

    Advice to Management

Give a "shadow" day to interns to follow employees who do the jobs that they are interested in.

Find another way to upload pictures of events to websites because it is scary and not exactly safe when part-timers and interns get back to the office late at night after an event and have to go upstairs and upload photos.
