    Pros

Perks are endless between concert tickets, great employees, good management. There's never a dull moment and overall the company tries to include employees w/ promotions

    Cons

Sometimes you can feel like just a "number", and it seems hard to advance within the company unless you are close with management. Also, be prepared to not work a 9-5 schedule. Hours can be at different times.

I worked at Clear Channel part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great perks: Meet famous people and go to great events. Pretty flexible with your schedule, but they know no one can live off the salary and hours they provide. Great for developing people/ networking skills.

    Cons

Too many people trying to be boss. Workers very competitive and childish toward each other. There is no team mentality. More worried about the bottom line then any standards of quality. Sales is all that matters. The company cuts budget to ridiculous levels and the product suffers.

    Advice to Management

Need to completely reboot the corporate culture.

    Pros

This is a very organized company, with money behind the operation, and big talent banks. They are innovative but you will need to be part of the game.

    Cons

Always changing commissions and the company is in flux due to the huge debt load they are under. What they innovate you will have to implement.

    Advice to Management

Watch your back. I saw lots of heads roll.

I have been working at Clear Channel full-time

    Pros

I really enjoyed the people that I worked with as they seem to hire people with very similar personalities. They try and create an overall fun place to be.

    Cons

Management definitely had their favorites, and this very select group of people got away with EVERYTHING. I always likened it to high school bullies who knock your lunch tray out of your hands. That's how they made you feel.

    Advice to Management

Get to know some of your employees better outside of your favorite circle of people.

    Pros

Unparalleled resources and state-of-the-art technology go hand in hand with being the largest company in the category. Quality properties and instant recognition in the marketplace.

    Cons

A total numbers-driven management philosophy. If it can't be measured mathematically, put into a metric, and printed out on a spreadsheet it doesn't exist or has no value. People are as interchangeable as office furniture for that reason.

I worked at Clear Channel full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Attending events for customers, first to try new restaurants in the city, meeting business partners in different industries, great for resume building to get to know business owners.

    Cons

100% commission after 3 months is stressful and a bit ridiculous, there are constant changes in the commission structure and upper management is always changing as well.

    Advice to Management

Your AE's are on 100% commission, there is no need to micromanage your team with sign in sheets to see where they are going and what time they will return.

I worked at Clear Channel full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Concert tickets
Nice co-workers (for the most part)
    Digital capabilities
Good blend of inside and outside sales experience

    Cons

Low pay - unless you are a 10 year veteran with a solid account list. Benefits are pretty brutal too.
Poor, Slow, Outdated technology - enjoy working on a computer and phone from 1992
Horrible Management - Micromanage you with meetings, yet provide no real training, help, or assistance with prospecting or helping to close proposals. They are only worried about the 10 year veterans, and let the first year rookies "figure it out"
No continuity - Sales, Traffic, Production, Accounting departments are all doing their own thing. No continuity between departments. As the AE you literally have to deal with every step in the process - which can be tedious and frustrating.
High Turnover - Don't bother making too many friends within the office - because a majority of them won't be there in the next 6 months. Close to 15 people left in my year there. And don't expect to get fed any good accounts unless you are a suck up.
Unethical - All i will say is to make sure you get everything in writing. Don't take any verbal agreements.
Poor Outlook - A majority of the big spenders in the market are already working with CC - so you are out there fighting over the small mom and pop companies with little to no budgets. The big spenders that aren't working with CC usually want nothing to do with them. Perception is that "Radio doesn't work." Have fun, and good luck prospecting saying your calling from CC. No transparency on who is calling on or perusing a particular account - there could be as many as 5 people calling on 1 account at a particular time. No CRM tools to manage your prospects - so brush up on your Microsoft Excel skills. All sales people are calling off the same prospecting lists (x-ray, MM). TV, Radio, Print, Digital all fighting over the same $ too. No written contracts, so when your client is unhappy after 3 months of not seeing any results they typically pull their money with you.

    Advice to Management

Provide help or assistance for AE's. Update your horrible technology to see an increase in productivity. Managers should be required to take an ethics course.
