The best reason is you get paid on a weekly basis, and generally you get off from work a little early on Fridays.
There are many cons to working for this company. If you want to always feel like you are on the edge of a cliff with a stiff wind blowing at your back, then this is the company for you. I have never worked with a company before, that has the employees in constant fear of being laid off or terminated. Everybody there was ALWAYS a nervous wreck. They value upper management employees only. In short, there are too many chiefs, and not enough indians.
As far as promotions, they are non-existent. What ever pay you agree to accept in the hiring process, is the pay you can expect to receive forever more.
The employees don't get along very well, and there is a lot of "backbiting" within this company. The owners are so far out of touch with everyday working people, they fail to appreciate the workers who make the company what it is. There are a lot of decent, hardworking, good people who work for this company, and they get treated with no respect, low pay and live in constant fear that on any given day, AFTER working a full day, they will be let go; because after all, that's how the company does it. I would not recommend working for this company. Thank you .
Advice to Management
To the owners, come out of your gated community once in a while, to see how the real people live. Just because people work construction, does NOT mean they are trash, like you treat them. Give people raises or incentives, benefits, ANYTHING.....You will have much happier workers, and much less turnaround with employees.
Instead of insinuating that every day may be your last with your company if you are a common worker, how about trim back on some of the upper management once in a while.....Eventually, if you get rid of all the little people, YOU are going to be left doing all the work.
This company will hire anyone with a heartbeat. The start out pay is okay for a person with no experience in the field of road construction.
While hiring anyone who fills out an application, workforce lacks experience needed for high quality work. Pay scale for knowledgeable employees is very low. That leads to very few employees with experience to teach others how to do things the proper way.
Advice to Management
Listen to the little guy more and pay deserving employees what they deserve. Giving benefits back might also boost morale.
