I have been working at Cleo Communications full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

Great benefits, great products and a ton of talented people to work with. The company has grown really fast and really invests in its employees.

    Cons

For a time, the direction of the organization shifted quite a bit and your work tended to be in limbo, but not so much anymore.

    Advice to Management

Keep investing in employees and teams can better able to scale to meet growing demand.

    Pros

It’s a job that pays so you can at least pay your bills (insert eye roll 🙄 )

    Cons

Senior management is beyond incompetent. They have no idea what they are doing. They put brown nosers with little experience to run projects and to manage more experienced personnel. They lie and tell you the reason these idiots have been put in charge is because they have certain knowledge or know how. When you start working with them, you quickly realize, they don’t have the expertise and they need you to advise them....

I have been working at Cleo Communications full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

Amazing benefits package and a great work atmosphere. The people that work here are fantastic and friendly and make going to work a pleasure. Do not be dissuaded by some of the negative reviews on here, they are likely from bitter former employees that did not work out.

    Cons

There is some after hours work or travel needed but it is not often. Most managers will allow you to offset this with leaving an hour early here and there.

    Advice to Management

The only thing I can think of is to give a good look at the talent pool that you currently have when considering promotions and other advancement opportunities.

I have been working at Cleo Communications full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

I am super disappointed to see some of these negative reviews. I don't agree with them at all. Sites like this are usually just a venting source for a select group of disgruntled people. I thought I would take the time to right a review from the other angle. Cleo is overall a great company. The growth and the opportunity is truly unique. I know Cleo is on the track to do great things. I love that the company is...

    Cons

Yes, Cleo needs to work on communication, that has been identified and I am looking forward to seeing this improved as management said they would. Also, yes, Cleo is growing fast, so they are definite "growing pains" as people call them. No company is perfect, but these definitely don't outweigh all the good that Cleo has going on. I just feel someone needed to say that.

    Advice to Management

Keep getting our feedback and working on the areas that need improvement. I really like so many things about Cleo, so please keep these in focus as Cleo grows.

I worked at Cleo Communications full-time

    Pros

Lots of smart people at Cleo. Good place to learn and be challenged.

    Cons

CEO use's beat down tactics and set people up for failure. Lots of crabby people. No other software companies in Rockford so upper management has everyone thinking Cleo's the best thing since Google. Few greedy sales and marketing executives run the company with no regard for any department besides their own, they are master manipulators and use inflated metrics to justify their shady tactics. They hide any information...

    Advice to Management

If people are unhappy, quitting left and right, and everything is in chaos do something about it. No amount of snacks and ice cream can cover the fact that there are huge issues looming in the foundation of the company. Upper Management needs to stop blowing smoke and address the issues and stop kidding themselves.

I have been working at Cleo Communications full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Great benefits, people, and working environment

    Cons

Benefits have a "fine print" caveat emptor. Sick time is misleading. *IF* you have *ANY* scheduled procedure, that, as well as recovery time, is taken out of your Vacation bank. You may end up in the ER due to something (which is covered) but the "fix" (surgery/recovery, PT, etc) which is "scheduled" is taken out of your Vacation bank. This is the *ONLY* company I worked for in decades that does this.

    Advice to Management

Change the policy taking "scheduled" medical procedures out of the vacation requirement. Vacation is to recharge oneself, relax, and a break from work. You're technically denying that by requiring vacation to be taken to recover from an injury/illness. Recently there was a post regarding an employee for another company who took sick leave for a "mental health"break from work. Her CEO replied back that was "great" and...

I have been working at Cleo Communications full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Cleo has a strong pedigree and great customer base to leverage. Each day is a challenge but you can be confident you are helping customers and don't have to feel like a used car salesman.

    Cons

Spread thin during massive growth. Scaling some departments is a challenge and to operationalize an organization after a major acquisitions (EXTOL) is tricky to align new responsibilities.

    Advice to Management

Focus on bringing in top talent from colleges & universities around the area. Great to have Sr staff that are industry experts but Cleo shouldn't be afraid to invest in top level collegiate talent.
