I have been working at Cleveland Clinic as a contractor (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Resume builder. Ok benefits nothing to write home to folks about.

    Cons

IT systems in all clinical departments slow and mediocre all about the image not about employees or patients. Still having incompetent employees in RTPLMI handling samples and not certified or have a degree to interpret if sample/results are needed.

    Advice to Management

Need better management. RTPLMI is the worse. Need to pay to have better professional employees lots of four year premed didn't make it to med school now use RTPLMI as a fall back and now hostile staff and environment.

I have been working at Cleveland Clinic full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Helping patients new tech nice facility and red coats

    Cons

The worst management in place. Intelligent but in experienced. Work load doesn't reflect pay. Front operations are not supported considered expendable. No career advancement

    Advice to Management

Hire older managers with some experience besides cute little females that all look like they worked at a strip club during college

    "Not recommended for new grads"

I worked at Cleveland Clinic full-time

    Pros

New Grad orientation classes are very informative. Benefits. The prestige.

    Cons

Worst starting salary in all of Cleveland area major hospitals. Not getting honest feedback from preceptors. Being behind as a new grad, but not being given direction as to where a new grad should be at different weeks. When direction was given, it was too late to fix it. I ended up resigning.

    Advice to Management

Give orientees a clear view of what is expected of them by certain weeks so that they know what to achieve. Encourage honest feedback.

I worked at Cleveland Clinic full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

You get to say that you work for the Clinic.

    Cons

Unless you are a doctor, nurse or have a high paying title, you are nothing to them and they always make sure that you know it.

    Advice to Management

Hire more females to your management positions and perhaps treat all equally. The sexism there is outrageous.

I worked at Cleveland Clinic full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Clinical staff and Doctors are nice. Good benefits but that's pretty much it.

    Cons

This is the WORST place to work for. This is jail to be exact. Ever since they changed management, its gone downhill. They have way too many managers and supervisors and not enough staff. The work load is ridiculous and the pay is definitely not worth it. The supervisor/managers have their favorites and treat the true hardworking people like trash. There is NO support from management either and they always focus on the negative on people rather than the positive. I would never recommend this place to anyone, not even my worst enemy.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to treat your employees with respect and learn your department. It doesn't look good when an employee comes to you for help on their department and you don't know what steps to take or how to back up your employee. Stop micromanaging, especially when you don't even know how to be a good manager.

    Pros

    they have many available jobs

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Don't let one person make decisions. Don't let providers go without talking to coworkers.

I worked at Cleveland Clinic full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great experience to develop personal nursing skills and knowledge. Work alongside top minds of the medical profession. Great opportunity to improve the lives of patients from across the globe.

    Cons

Extremely poor management. Unsafe RN to patient ratios. False promises of a culture of transparency and innovation instead deny and blame.

    Advice to Management

Recognize your star employees and get rid of the ones who show up for the paycheck and don't care about the patients. Get involved on your unit and the care of patients to see what is really going on instead of staying locked up in your office sending off meaningless inspirational emails.
