Communication between different business lines needs to be stronger.

I worked at Close Brothers full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great work life balance, free drinks every alternative Friday, good social activities, bake off, charity runs... the usual corporate perks, etc.

    Cons

Not all senior managers are open to try new innovative solutions. I was offered a job which promised I implement a lot of new technologies but I did not get the opportunity. My team's senior management are happy with traditional methods and are afraid to change. I waited for about a year to use my core skills, kept asking my senior management team, but it did not happen. They kept saying let's not complicate things - what we are doing is close enough to advanced work, etc.. So I resigned.

    Advice to Management

Don't recruit someone with a specific set of skills and make them work for something else.

I worked at Close Brothers full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I have worked at Close Brother for more than 3 years Its a good company to start and get some work experience

    Cons

You will only get promotion if you become favourite of your boss regardless how hard working and good you are at work. You will get no appreciation for the good work you have done even if your productivity is excellent. Even HR department is not unbiased they work on the instructions of department heads. Overall not a good place to work for longer period of time.

    Advice to Management

Top management should have this system in place where employees can tell them about any issues which should be kept secret and should not be disclosed to their bosses.
