    Pros

Most autonomous position ever. Bright people and technologists.

    Cons

Upper management suffered heavily from a leadership deficiency, causing mass exodus and eventually, a total shut-down of their pay-day lending operations, which they masterfully hid behind a false "Christian" image.

    Advice to Management

Read some books by John C. Maxwell and Steven Covey to start. And if you profess to be Christians, you might want to start with studying the teachings of Christ.

I worked at Cloudswell full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I was a member of a development team using Agile methodolgies. They were managed properly and the project was delivered early. A truly great group of people.

    Cons

It looked as if decisions made at the upper levels were styfuling expansion. Our department from the VP on down were great to work with.

    I worked at Cloudswell full-time

    Pros

Many of the employees were execellent at what they did and sincerely subscribed to the stated mission of providing aid to orphans in third world countries.

    Cons

Unfortunately, the owner was not as concerned about the welfare of his employees. Benefits were meager, and when a nacha ruling made the payday loan business more difficult, he simply closed Cloudswell, along with most of the affiliated companies. This put many people out of work with zero notice. We were told that we would receive pay for time worked and that was it. Eventually we received letters telling us we would receive pay for unused vacation time, prorated to the close date. 'Catastrophic Business Failure' was given as the reason for the shutdown.

I hear that he is currently forming another company.

I worked at Cloudswell full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

As has been predicted by many here, Cloudswell and all the other affiliated companies have shut down operations. While this has resulted in a lot of heartbreak and trepidation about making a living, let me assure all of you that you will end up in a much better place eventually, and look back and wonder why you lived with it as long as you did.

A skeleton crew has been left in place, and as those folks who were kept on eventually find new jobs and leave, someone will have to keep up with some of the operations until all the business units and hardware are decommissioned and sold off. Let this serve as a warning to anyone who might happen upon this to steer clear of any "opportunities" you may be offered to come here. It will be temporary regardless of the sales pitch you are given about a new company being formed.

    Cons

How's this for classy....the people who were terminated were initially told they wouldn't even get their accrued vacation pay! Someone (possible the state of TN maybe?) changed someone's mind and only then did letters go out saying they would be paid for vacation. Good riddance! Regardless of the owner and his stated mission, this company is, in my opinion, HORRIBLE!

To compound the problems for the folks who were terminated, they entered a market that was all of a sudden flooded with their former co-workers. I know quite a few have found other jobs rather quickly, but for some of the more specialized folks and people in 'soft' positions such as coordinators, managers, business analysts, and project managers, the search continues, and it will be tough for them to get back to square one.

    Advice to Management

Good luck in your future endeavors.

I worked at Cloudswell full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The technical people are all smart, diligent , and under appreciated.

    Cons

Executive management is completely disconnected from this division and has their eyes elsewhere. It's really no secret that they would love to completely shut Cloudswell down and move everything to the great, cheap, and all encompassing cloud. It is quite apparent that this strategy hasn't been thought out, and no one has asked the hard questions in regards to the details. The smoke and mirrors act won't last forever. So glad to be gone.

    Advice to Management

What could I possibly say that hasn't already been said? You guys are serial bad decision makers. Trust has constantly been placed in the wrong individuals. It is obvious that Cloudswell has already been written off, so none of this may even matter to you.

I worked at Cloudswell full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

People working there are great. Systems were great 5 years ago, now are old and antiquated, like the vision. Free coffee is awesome. Love the flavors. Great place to make up a title.

    Cons

A virtual company offering virtually nothing. Four plus months now, no website, no sign outside, no vision, no executive management, and zero plan. I would be embarrased to put a sign out front too.

    Advice to Management

Management doesn't take advice. With a 100% turnover evey year, they think they are doing great.

I worked at Cloudswell full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

During the course of my employment, I worked with some very bright and talented individuals. Due the nature of unnamed affiliated business dealing with payday loans, the tech was quite nice for a company of this size. You can learn a lot in a short amount of time. The salary is ok for the Chattanooga area, but not competitive with the industry.

    Cons

Formally Terenine, the sudden shift of the business model to move everything to the "cloud" is quite troubling. Meaning, no job security for anyone onsite except management. Frankly, I would think you would want control of your boxes when dealing with tons of confidential information, but to each its own. Clearly this is a company that doesn't know what they want as direction changes sporadically quite often. One minute you are working on the most critical thing in the world and the next minute you are told it isn't of any importance. This points to very poor planning and having no real vision or goal

Management will not listen but instead inspires fear into their employees because they do not care. They do not care about you, your life, or anything of the nature. It is all about them; they do no wrong. The turnover is insane, but management keeps on doing the same old thing. There are literally more managers than workers here, it is way to vertical of an organization for its size.

Career advancement has all but stopped unless you are of course (drum roll please), a manager. In that case, the sky is the limit. When you question your leaders, would you still follow their vision? If that vision is to drive every single employee off, then yes. Constant lying, threats for no reason, taking privileges away, offering no advancement, etc... that is the kind of management here.

On a far less critical note, the owner of the companies, yes companies--there are several in the umbrella--portrays them all as Christian-based organizations. To some this is a pro, but of course it may offend others to see the 10 commandments on the walls. Keep faith and business separate.

    Advice to Management

I cannot give advice that will be discarded immediately as management thinks they are doing a good job.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Love working with all the many people through the years that I was there.

    Cons

The CEO/Founder was found to have been indicted for criminal charges, and none of the loyal employees knew about it.

    Advice to Management

Always have check and balances in place to keep even the CEO/Founder from ruining the company.
