I have been working at Club One part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

My co-workers, but NOT the management. The majority of my co-workers are amazing and supportive, except for those who kiss up to the terrible management and screw their co-workers over.

    Cons

    -terrible management
    -management is unsupportive of staff
    - there are illogical rules and procedures
    - the mangement screws their staff over
    -they don't hire from within
-don't fully train or provide proper guidance for emergency procedures.

    Advice to Management

Get better management and stop screwing all your staff over. Your "shinning" reputation that draws in possible employees doesn't last long once they are hired. Everyone is heading out the door ASAP. This place is a disaster waiting to happen.

I worked at Club One part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great people for the most part
    Members are great
    Looks good on resume
    Lots of networking opportunity

    Cons

Corporate is unprofessional and out of touch
    Pay
Go from bored out of your mind to crazy busy
High turnover because people get burnt out

    Advice to Management

You should understand what goes into working the front desk and respect the position.
Understand that the pay you are currently offering is not going to attract the people with the capacity to do the job functions required.

I have been working at Club One part-time (More than 3 years)

    Advice to Management

The management at this place doesn't really care for their employees.

  4. "Great entry level job, where you will learn a lot, but very little room for growth and little pay."

    Pros

Flexibility, great for meeting new people and networking with employees and members, free gym membership.

    Cons

There is a huge disconnect between leadership (corporate office) and club level employees. Programs and ideas are not implemented properly and it is often times very unorganized... Little pay for the amount of work, and little room for advancement. If you do advance, you are not compensated for it, they try to pay you the same amount of money and hold it against you if you do not take the "opportunity"... employee turnover rate is high because of these reasons.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees and consider their opinions before making critical decisions. This has been something that the company has been working on for years but has never done... Pay people what they deserve, acknowledge good employees, and be more transparent.

Note: Jim Mizes is no longer the CEO. Bill McBride is the President and CEO.

    Pros

Nice facilities, satisfactory benefits, friendly staff, flexible hours.

    Cons

they don't help the employees grow with the company, i.e. promotions, new opportunities, etc.

    Advice to Management

Instead of looking on Craigslist for new employment, how about promoting internally. There's an idea.

never stagnant, always exploring ways to grow business and qualifications in our industry

    Cons

salary for management and senior roles could be more competitive

    Pros

Complimentary membership to all Club One locations in Bay Area, great networking as you met new people everday, discounts on health insurrances.

    Cons

Salary is not the best but neither is the economy. Deal with numerous complaints from dissatisfied members on a daily basis, not much recognition from the management on a corporate level.

    Advice to Management

Please give recognition to the service desk team once in a while. We tend to get the short end of the stick and got a lot of grief with no reward.
