I have been working at Coast Capital Savings full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits are amazing. Company does a lot to give back to the community. Great reputation and staff perks. Friendly atmosphere.

    Cons

There's a lot of managers, department leaders, etc. Great for promotions within, but not great when trying to implement changes, or ensure communications are consistent throughout departments.

    Advice to Management

Focus to hire people who reflect Coast values. Listen to staff complaints.

I have been working at Coast Capital Savings full-time

    Pros

Slow paced environment with average and below average performers. Great for people who are used to working in public sector or unionized environments.

    Cons

Coast Capital Savings is very top heavy with what seems like endless amount of middle management. It takes 12-16 team leads, managers, senior managers, directors before a decision is made. Time lines are missed and projects fail on a regular basis.

    Advice to Management

Start listening to your half a million members instead of patronizing and trying to silence them.

I worked at Coast Capital Savings full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good products and benefits not really much more to say... staff loan benefit is good and there are lots of nice people

    Cons

No flexibility, terrible management, generally poor work environment, managers will pat you on the back and then trash you on reviews. Very very very happy to be done.

    Advice to Management

Check up on management. Seriously ask staff their opinions, staff are scared to say anything because it comes back to haunt them.

I have been working at Coast Capital Savings full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The staff are good, head office is local in Surey. Fun staff events and good banking benefits offered. Supports local communities.

    Cons

The sales pressure is unreal, if you do not perform they will show you the door rather than try to work with you. They are not concerned with staff mental health and the pressures they are applying. Senior management is a joke...no respect for staff below them. Seems like everyone is always looking for a new job. They make it appear there is an open door policy but really don't care. Management gossips about their own staff...no respect.

    Advice to Management

Make it easier for staff to comment on their management without fear of job loss.
