I have been working at Coast Community College District part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It is a very convenient to work for the district if you are also seeking your Associate's degree at the same time.

    Cons

There was hardly any cons at the time.

    Pros

Great benefits, fair compensation, steady employment in a quality community college district

    Cons

Decision making can often be long and drawn out thanks to the unions, district bureaucracy and elected board of trustees

  3. "Some Departments are very dysfunctional."

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Coast Community College District full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The students are great and there are many skilled and dedicated faculty. The salaries are higher than average.

    Cons

Many departments are extremely dysfunctional. The Mathematics Department at Golden West College is so dysfunctional it's under Program Vitality Review (PVR), a status usually reserved for programs that are being considered for elimination.

    Advice to Management

Find a way to redirect tenured faculty who are out of control.
