Pros
There are a lot of nice people there.
Cons
Worst run place I have ever seen, management plays favorites big time . Management breaks its own policies to play favorites. Cannot trust anyone in a higher position.
3 - 4.0Mar 14, 2023Office CoordinatorFormer Employee
Pros
- company recognition - benefits - great for new assistants who are just starting out, learning opportunities - great doctors to work with
Cons
I would recommend a better system for getting mileage when traveling to other dental offices within the company since it was difficult for anybody to calculate or find the right formula. The money kept being denied for most instances. Also, depending on the office front desk management would not look out for their assistants particularly one(the last) office that I worked for would neglect to follow up with bonuses. If you want your pay, you must stay on top of everything that you do. You have to work hard.

Pros
They will probably hire you if you're desperate for a job and have a clean background. From a dental history perspective, most offices are reminiscent of what they looked like 30 years ago so depending on your site it could be like you're in a time capsule.
Cons
Nepotism is rampant, and the handbook and your job description are meaningless; they will use it against you, but it's not intended to be a tool to help an employee. When the term family is used in company rhetoric, it's more likely they are referring to the members that work in the organization through marriage or biology; otherwise, you are a cheap solution that will hopefully carry out their agenda. The company cannot afford to pay competitive salaries and turnover is a huge issue. If something goes wrong, the hierarchy is not responsible i.e. instead of solving the problem, they will overlook their poor planning and pin the deficiency on lower-ranking employees. While a disgruntled patient or governmental body will still hold this organization accountable, the benefit of this costly tactic must help the "family" sleep at night. Finally, prepare to have your work history tarnished and outlandish records recorded at random by HR. It was a highly unstable and volatile environment the ratings on Google and elsewhere are accurate.

Pros
Its a full time job, they offer Benefits, PTO, 401.
Cons
Overworked, under paid, never appreciated, if you are unhappy then you can leave... That is what you will be told. They recently came up with new Explosion codes to use when creating treatment plans for patients so Even if a patients insurance Covers the procedure the company forces you to up sale numerous extra treatments and make the patient pay more stating this is the Coast Dental standard of care. The only nonmetal Crown treatment plan explosion code they created was for a code that is only used at Coast Dental. The Z codes!! Insurance companies do not recognize it and therefore they will not cover it. But we were instructed to present that first then if the patient complains we can use the normal 2740 code. Money grubbing tactics and a complete utter waste of time! Unlimited amounts of time is wasted trying to figure out the insurance details, histories and frequencies also the amount of items that now must be phased out or deleted because of the new Explosion codes is ridiculous. Very time consuming! Meanwhile They will force the assistant to do the job of 2 assistants and the hyg asst position because they state hiring a temp costs too much. The schedule is double and triple booked for one assistant to manage. So Crown prep at 11:00 a.m. with a full new patient exam through teledoc at 11:00 a.m. also. And the doubled book appointments goes on all day everyday. But you will be expected to stay on time while jumping through all those hoops! And don't get me going on the cheap equipment that you are forever having to have repaired or replaced! Overloaded cheap computers that can't handle a simple x-ray programs so your programs shut down in the middle of taking x-rays . Their solution, put a trouble ticket in. Every day there are trouble tickets put in for their crappy computers. It should go without saying with all those delays the wait time for these patients and the stressful working conditions for the employees is out of control. There is zero consideration for the employees and patients. It's a shame. Oh they do not give pay raises!!!! They will triple your workload and deny you any financial compensation. If you do Dare complain about the new workload they will tell you this is your job and they expect you to do it. 9r you can leave!!
2 - 3.0May 27, 2023Dental Assistant/Dental HygienistFormer Employee, less than 1 yearTampa, FL
Pros
Good to get more experience
Cons
Fast paced and over booking
- 1.0Sep 14, 2022Office ManagerFormer Employee, more than 3 yearsNaples, FL
Pros
If you don't like the office you are in, they can usually transfer you all around
Cons
The don't give raises unless you threaten to quit. They are money-focused not patient-focused. The SWFL area is a disaster. Running out of supplies and not being to able to order enough is frequent Equipment very outdated Corporate management and providers are treated like royalty while they don't care about anyone else underneath that. Aggressive almost manipulative tactics. Punishments to everyone in the office for not making metrics except the providers who are the ones actually diagnosing and doing (or not doing) the work. Corporate is passive aggressive and not kind to regular office staff. There is no way to contact corporate for anything on the phone, you have to e-mail them and they stall to give you answers if they give you one at all You have to ask permission for everything to corporate and they take their time, literally months to get back to you. Everyone in the dental industry, in SWFL area at least, looks down on this company I've had many other dental offices/companies apologize to me for working here. They are known as being understaffed, undersupplied, underpaid, and overworked People that have never worked for this company know someone that has & has heard horror stories or they know a patient that has gone to a Coast office and has horror stories. Its gotten so bad that they are now exclusively looking to hire dental assistant students because they can't convince anyone to work for them Very high turnover- every office I've been in, patients complain that they always see new people in the office.
