I have been working at Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Two great internal benefits- onsite PA and Chaplian

    Cons

Managers often treat employees with disrespect and disregard. Opportunities for promotions are given to those that are chosen based on management personal preferences. Internal jobs are posted but the interview process is a waste of time - because management used favoritism. This is not an organization that recognizes hard work or loyalty but instead nepotism, favoritisms plays a role. Upper management is out of...

    Advice to Management

Take the purpose statement out of the frame and off the office walls and review it- then commit to living and working with the purpose using the values on it as you guide to treating employees with dignity and respect. Listen to the teams and don’t allow your title to rob you of the humility needed to lead people and to continue the success of the company.

I have been working at Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated

    Pros

Community and human welfare oriented, brand popularity

    Cons

    Actions don't align purpose statement,

    Advice to Management

Expectations of sales force and operations are unrealistic. The process of recent job cuts could have been handled with MUCH more transparency and directness.

I have been working at Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated full-time for more than 9 years

    Pros

Health benefits, great brands, well known company. Can move up if a hard worker at the basic levels and have common sense.

    Cons

The workload is heavy at times for the pay. You are often overloaded and have to proritize. They talk about giving people the tools but yet don't give a reasonable amount of time. Everything is becoming automated in the system and makes employees feel like slimy used car salesmen. If trained and given the time to complete, the right people can do great things. Many jobs been cut so not a lot of movement possibilities.

    Advice to Management

High level management ask for feedback but always have an agenda. Like any company, the majority talk and a few get it done. You do not allow frontline management the time to train the people so there is constant turnover which exacerbates the problem. Your vision and purpose are great but seldom does it show in the treatment of the people by high level management. You no longer let the people do what they do best. Could...

I worked at Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Manage the inventory of Coke products for either chain (dollar store), small store/convenience, and large store (grocery, Walmart) Relatively simple job. You are using the order history to make an order of coke products for each customer. You also are in charge of pricing, promotion placement, out of dates, and attempting to take shelf space from competitors.

      Cons

You are the face for the company so customer's complaints are directed at you. Will manage a large number of accounts and can often lead to long days. I worked approximate 50-60 hours a week. The bonus is capped.

      Advice to Management

      Streamline Account Developer duties

I worked at Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated full-time for more than 4 years

      Pros

Health insurance is average at best.

      Cons

Upper management are old school and terrible. They WILL run you down till your hair begins to fall. They only care about how about the quota of how many cases of coke you can add onto a customer’s order without them knowing. As the account manager, you are responsible for lazy drivers that don’t stock up the store when the store receives the order, merchandisers that are plain lazy and inconsistent. Then you have the...

      Advice to Management

Try and be a bit more modern and side with your employees rather than taking up arms against them and siding with store managers who are illiterate and incompetent. Never again will I EVER adjoin the beverage industry!

I have been working at Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated part-time for more than a year

      Pros

      Paid vacation, work by yourself.

      Cons

Bad management, as much as your supervisor may “act” like they care they don’t. Don’t bother going to them for help because help is very limited when it comes to merchandising as a flex guy. Supervisor once said I shouldn’t be working for Coca Cola because I wanted to step down from full time because of the stress it’s causing to mind and my body. Ever since then I felt like my supervisor been trying to get me to quit...
