  2. "Great company"

    Pros

They care about their employees and have a lot of incentives outside of salary because they don’t have a great bonus structure. Insurance is decent. 401k match is good.

    Cons

Work life balance sucks. Bonus structure is not as good as previous company. Still catching up on technology but they are trying.

    Advice to Management

    Increase bonus possibility and pto.

I have been working at Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

You know that you will have your job in 20 years no matter what. Really competitive salary and little micro managing

    Cons

If you want to move up in Coca Cola you will have to be willing to relocate. It is not a challenging environment because everyone knows that we will sell come no matter what. Poor communication.

    Advice to Management

Everything is about leadership, our local leaders don’t really know how to handle such a big business. Poor communication (an effective communication doesn’t mean more emails)

    Pros

    Decent pay
    Good benefits
    Work on your own

    Cons

    Drive your personal car
    Long days

    Advice to Management

Allow workers to not have to drive over an hour away for store

I have been working at Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated full-time

    Pros

On the job training. Health benefits but employee must pay premiums. 401k benefits with match from employer.

    Cons

No employer contribution to health benefits. Limited room for growth unless desire to relocate.

    Advice to Management

Lower management could use some coaching and leadership training. Also, management could use additional training on communication and communication styles.

I worked at Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible scheduling for part-timers, ability to pick up extra work
Easy work outside of the physical demands
Most co-workers are friendly and happy to help newcomers, but you'll usually be working alone after you're done with training
Supervisor is personable, easy to get in touch with, and helps resolve issues that are beyond your control quickly

    Cons

Early start (5-6AM) and long hours
Store employees (not coke employees) are often surly or unfriendly, you'll tend to find yourself waiting on them or being complained to about things you didn't do or can't fix
Easy for full-timer or other flex personnel to skip things or make it appear like they've done their job fully to store staff, but you may have to pick up the slack as a result
Most stores are gross in the back and you'll be on the floor a lot, not for germophobes

    Advice to Management

Most of my complaints are about the staff in the grocery stores, not CCBCC management. My only advice would be to keep fostering a culture of personal responsibility and to quickly root out weak links in your staff to ensure everything runs smoothly. Someone can go for a week or two without facing consequences for not fully stocking the refrigerators at the front of a store, but it will be noticed eventually and the blame may fall on the wrong person as a result. Prevention is the best way to resolve this.
Beyond that, my experience was positive and my supervisor was very helpful in resolving conflicts.
