I have been working at Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent pay, some good people, easy wet chemistry/bench work

    Cons

No work/life balance, work almost every weekend, labor not intended for quality control, no room for growth

    Advice to Management

Think about people's lives outside of work, and not just your cost per case. Work on assigning proper work to proper employees.

    Pros

The hours were pretty flexible as long as you got your work done. Most of the time I was able to work independently, which was a plus for me.

    Cons

Early starting hours, you have to get up before most of the stores open. Sometimes management doesn't seem to be on the same page so they will send you on an inefficient route.

    Advice to Management

Plan routes so that they are most efficient.

I have been working at Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The organization has a supportive atmosphere. Coworkers are highly competent. Leadership is knowledgeable of the business from the bottom up.

    Cons

Tremendous growth of the organization has placed the existing infrastructure under great stress. Growing pains are a temporary result of expansion.

    Advice to Management

Stay true to your mission. It's what attracts most people to the organization.

I have been working at Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Updated work space, free beverages and decent benefits.

    Cons

The company is about ten years behind in going paperless and is going at a snails pace in changing that. Colleagues work in silos and there is no awareness of process excellence or improvement. Majority of management have been there too long and are stuck in the "that's the way we've always done it" mentality. Do not think out of the box or offer suggestions on improvement or you will be met with hostility and defensiveness. Very little opportunity for career growth.

    Advice to Management

You need to clean house and get rid of those managers and supervisors whose childish behavior you've been coddling the last 20 years. Bring in a certified Black Belt to go through your processes and bring some relief to the people that have to deal with antiquated ways of doing business. This isn't a personality contest.. its a business. Get rid of the people who are the cause of the toxic environment.

I have been working at Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pay and benefits is about it. Some of the people are ok but really all this place is about is profiting they don't really care about their employees like they claim to.

    Cons

To do the job correctly it takes a lot of time and they want you to do it correctly of course but don't want you to take a lot of time. Chinese overtime google it. Poor management with out to get you attitudes.

    Advice to Management

Take a look at all the people that come and go there is more to life than a decent salary like respect and gratitude to start. We are all men/women you are no better than us. We are all working together for a common goal to make, sell and distribute the worlds greatest soft drink. Take a step back and evaluate yourselves for starters then re-read the company mission statement and goals. I'm sure Mr. Harrison has no idea or maybe he does.
