I have been working at Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There are no pros. I am not exaggerating.

    Cons

(This is only for the dispatch department)

    - No set schedules.

    - If you work nights, you do not get 40 hours a week.

    - Horrible communication from the managers.

-They leave employees out of the loop, until it is last minute. Then they decide to throw big changes on you all at once.

    - I started with a set schedule with 40 hours a week, and now I am basically on a retail like schedule, where my manager makes it every week.

    - Since they are able to create the schedule week by week, it allows them to corner their own employees, to work 12 to 13 hour shifts on Saturdays and Sundays.

-They said this was temporary until they figure out how to fix the schedule.....That was 3 months ago.

    Advice to Management

Maybe look into another position. Right now Corporate HR is involved, and they are looking into all the issues you guys have brought to this department since the change over to EQSV. Since the new director John has came in to change things up, the turnover rate increased. They hired a new class, and lost two of them with in the first two weeks, due to lack of communication and Consistency on the schedule. My advice is to care a little more about the well being of your employees and the department. You should want people to enjoy their jobs, and enjoy coming in everyday. Also, Night time dispatchers and day time dispatchers, are the exact same role. Same pay and same role. They shouldn't get any special treatment over the night team.

I worked at Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The majority of teammates in support roles are genuinely willing to serve others within their respective departments.
Salary was good but absolutely not worth working or being expected to be available 24/7 (including vacation and other personal time off) or the high degree of stress and pressure applied by senior leadership.

    Cons

    Where to begin....
Field employees both on the front line as well as supervisors and managers, are subjected to unrealistic goals, length of day/week expectations, and have absolutely no work-life balance, resulting in ongoing significant turnover which makes managing and achieving unrealistic goals and business objectives difficult, if not impossible.
Field Operation and Sales Directors/VP's are abrasive, condescending, micro-managers that are relentlessly critical of everything , and give little to no autonomy to managers and supervisors to make decisions or manage their teams.
Senior Field Operations and Sales leaders manage through fear of termination and intimidating personalities rather than inspiring and supporting their front line supervisors and managers.
The company purpose statement says to "Honor God in all that we do" yet there is an inherent expectation from senior leadership to throw your cross-functional teammates under the bus which is a direct contradiction to how Christians are taught to do treat others.
Horrible time off package, particularly given the expected time commitment that employees are at work or forced to be be available for work.
Little to no consideration for advancement or innovative and creative thinking if you are not a "Legacy" employee.

If you are looking for a career in Field Operations or Sales, RUN, there are far better places to find employment opportunities

    Advice to Management

Turnover and attrition are a part of any business however, the rates at CCBCC are astronomical compared to most companies. This is a clear indication of how poorly your senior leaders are managing your business and how unfairly the greatest population of your workforce is being treated.
Also, profitability is important to any successful business however, it is not the only thing and can be achieved through innovation, appreciation of the workforce, and inspirational leadership but should not be through working your employees to the bone, constantly disparaging and belittling them, or setting unrealistic goals and expectations without providing the resources needed to achieve them.
People will work hard for people they respect, not people they live in constant fear of.

I have been working at Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    The company is fair.
Medical benefits are good, but could be better.

    Cons

Just about everything else, from leaning hard on their faith to them always trying to work you 50-60 hours a week.
The vacation time/personal time/sick time here is a joke.

    Advice to Management

Give employees a reason to WANT to stay with your company and they will. CCE had a good work/life balance, you folks don’t and you expect far too much for the pittance starting wage.
If you’re going to keep the starting rate so
Low lay off on sales like CCE did every other week or so. Gives employees more “away” time and less prone to burnout.
Revise your vacation/personal/sick time policies. People get sick, people want time with their families.
Stop making Easter a mandatory holiday by taking one of our personal days for it, Some of us aren’t Christian and work that day anyway, give us back the day and give the option of using Easter as a day off.

    Pros

    good pay and medical benefits

    Cons

forced overtime alot, working for a company that does not care about you. all you are is a time card. if you dropped dead they would just ask for some one to replace you and care less what happened to you.

    Advice to Management

one day all these old timers that work 7 days a week and have no home life will retire and then you wll have a hard time trying to replace them because no one with a family wants to work 7 days a week and miss out on there families.

I have been working at Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Pay and benefits is what is a plus here. Dental, health, and vision aswell as a pension is what will motivate an employee.

    Cons

Management kills morale of work environment. The system in design is flawed. Needs to look at what transpired from CCE days, and apply it to today’s needs

    Advice to Management

    Hire new management
