    Pros

You get a lot of freedom to work on your own.

    Cons

Always doing other people's work because of lack of repercussion.

    Advice to Management

Let merchandisers order their own product to cut down on bdl and excessive unnecessary product in back rooms.

I worked at Coca-Cola Enterprises full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

What can I say the only up side was recieving a steady paycheck. Until Coke started laying off people, first round was 1500 people nationwide.

    Cons

The company is restructuring and refranchising the business, they are selling off all their territories and essentially just want to markey coke. Wages were way below going market, and benefit costs kept rising. The management is not based off academic talent or analytic skill. Its really who you know vs. What you know. Constant flow of half done projects and management that had no clue what was going on. No wonder the company is flatlining.

    Advice to Management

How about listening to your people, you've surrounded yourself with yes men and back patters, lets look at cost and systems. Lets roll that money back into the people.

I worked at Coca-Cola Enterprises full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Payed was better than average and benefits were okay albeit a little pricey. Worked with some very talented people who cared deeply.

    Cons

Work life balance is bad, Culture is 30 years behind the times for effective system reliability program. Upper and middle management cant see past current state with respect to future state.

    Advice to Management

    Culture change is needed!

    Pros

    Decent pay and health insurance

    Cons

Unstable company that will lay you off and send your job overseas no matter how hard you work and make you train your replacement. Will also tell you no retaliation if you report a problem to HR but will find a way to do it anyway. A company where you have to be liked to get ahead. This pertains mainly to the collections department.

    Advice to Management

Promote based on merit and stop favoring your froends

Former Employee - Maintenance Supervisor in Sandston, VA

I worked at Coca-Cola Enterprises (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits and people to work with.

    Cons

Very hot and humid in the summers and cold in the winter. The plant is not conditioned. Too many requirements are placed on 1st line leaders that require a lot of overtime to keep up. No training program for employees to improve within their job function or to prepare for other opportunities with in the company.

    Advice to Management

Train the employees then move them or hold them accountable if they cannot perform their jobs to a standard. It only takes one slacker on a production line to have negative effect on the efficiency and it goes undetected.

I worked at Coca-Cola Enterprises full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Worked out of the office everyday. Interesting customers that you form professional relationships with that challenges you to select the right mix of products for their business. Compensation of 38,000 to start with yearly raises. You are only in the office for maybe half an hour at the beginning and end of your sales route to fill out necessary paperwork. Everyone I worked with were professional and decent, hardworking co-workers. Support from management depended on the specific individual from excellent to non-existent.

    Cons

You worked alone on the road which would seem independent, but in truth, you have very limited authority to make deals and sell.. You are really just an order taker with a scheduled route that never changes and grows old very quickly. Not very challenging. Alot of pressure to get customers to buy product that doesn't benefit their business just to meet quotas set at corporate level. Lots of accountability and responsibility without the necessary authority or empowerment.

    Advice to Management

Empower your sales force to truly sell by providing more support in the form of product placement and pricing.
