    Pros

Not many, very bias to management I worked over 7 years for them

    Cons

At first it went well then they cut salaries everyone waited for 3 years to get it back UNLESS you were management it took 2 days! When you become more popular with the guest and other employees as in asking for you or asking for advice your supervisor will come down hard on you in the form of "Other ways to get even or attempt to make you look bad. when this doesn't work they will give you all the jobs they know you don't want and make it a point to let you know they are! They will promise you pay increases that never appear. However every year they want you to fill out a favorable report on them so they get the yearly raise! They say its anonymous but they know from cameras and your own handwriting what you said in the report and you will be written up for some b.s. if you don't comply.

    Advice to Management

The owners need to look into the manages they have too many kept secrets. They are making fools of the owners and then laughing behind their backs that they pulled off another one! It may sound off here but my experience with all the owners was good. It was the upper and middle management that is causing the HUGE turnover and profit losses
Don't believe me? Start an internal audit !

    Pros

Management is friendly. Job is fairly laid back. You learn alot and you get to take pride in your work.

    Cons

The owner is very anal about alot of little things, such as pine cones on the course. Etc.

I worked at Coeur D'Alene Resort part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I worked at the restaurant on the golf course so the view was beautiful and the head chef at the time was awesome.

    Cons

Stood around waiting for golfers to come off the course hoping to get a table. If it rained you were completely out of luck and got to wait until the last golfer left the course until you could close. Pretty much only made any tips in July and August.

    Advice to Management

Pay more than $3 an hour and maybe people will want to work for you. Stop making your customers pay your employees wages.

I worked at Coeur D'Alene Resort part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The coeur d'alene resort was an ok place to be. Management was friendly. The job itself wasn't terribly exciting though.

    Cons

Working here wasn't terribly exciting and the pay was absolutely terrible. Otherwise the coworkers and people on the staff were friendly!

    Advice to Management

Have a more team oriented focus. Work with us, not against us. We are all working to provide excellent service to the customer.

I worked at Coeur D'Alene Resort full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good pay, usually fun co-workers, beautiful location, team oriented and good support from management.

    Cons

If you work for tips, then you don't get paid minimum wage rate. It's a cheap operation so don't expect a raise.

    Advice to Management

Find a way to attract more golfers by not compromising the integrity of the course. The reason less people are coming is due to the lack of challenge and the overcharged green-fees.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Coeur D'Alene Resort full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The fellow employees are positive and friendly. Meals are provided for $1.45 per day (only a 1/2 hour unpaid lunch is allowed). The uniforms are nice and laundered daily.

    Cons

No healthcare plan until 1 year with company. Low wages. Seasonal. there is a pool of people in the community desperate for jobs so the Company gets away with low ball wages and benefits.

    Advice to Management

The ownership makes a lot of profit. Sharing some with the workers would mean a great deal.

    Pros

Commission based, some golf perks, scenery.

    Cons

Rather political and very low base wage.

    Advice to Management

Employ fewer forecaddies who wish to work longer days. Instead of relying totally on tips, provide some base bag fee.

  9. "A very professional and positive working atmosphere focused toward providing excellent service for the guests."

    Pros

The tips you make as a forecaddie give you the opportunity to work fewer hours while making better money than most other non professional jobs. Also, there is a very positive, enjoyable atmosphere among the employees.

    Cons

As a forecaddie, you don't know whether or not you are working on a certain day until 4pm the evening before.

    Advice to Management

I appreciate the benefit structure put in place to reward hard work and loyalty to the company. Continue to develop that program.

    Pros

It is a well established business and provides many different venues that you can choose to work at or gain experience in.

    Cons

It is a very politically charged atmosphere and if you do not play the game well or tell them what they would like to hear it is a toxic environment. Poor performing employees that are popular with management are just moved to different departments rather than terminated. HR is ineffective and underqualified.
