    Pros

The company has some solid tech. The computer vision stack is pretty good.

    Cons

It's a stifling culture. I dread to come into work every day. Plus the work isn't that exciting anyway.

I have been working at Cognex full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I feel like an entrepreneur but without the risk of actually being one. Cognex is giving me to opportunity to work hard and rewards very well when being succesful.

    Cons

It's not a 9 to 5 job. You need to have the "whatever it takes" mentality. If not, don't even bother to apply.

    Advice to Management

Keep it up developing these super products!!

    Pros

Fantastic products surrounded by very talented people. The brand is second to none in the industry. Amazing organization that truly puts its people first.

    Cons

Channel management may be difficult at times but internal competition is good in such a competitive market. Communication between the business unit and sales can improve.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work. Very happy to be apart of this company.

    Pros

Great Culture. You have to live it to believe it!

    Cons

Terrible salaries, Little career growth, HR Management does not set you up for success, No work from home!

    Advice to Management

Support your reports in all that they need to grow, speak to your reports and not down to them, a leader knows how to identify strengths - encourage your reports to grow from their strengths and allow them to apply those strengths towards projects and responsibilities. A work from home environment really should be considered.

I have been working at Cognex full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Culture, smart people to work with; great market and rise rapidly. Can learn things quickly by doing work and from others.

    Cons

Salary on the lower end in the tech industry. Pressure can be quite high at times especially when it comes from customers' demand.

    Advice to Management

Considering the high living cost of Boston and the industry average, compensation needs to be noticeably improved to better retain and attract top people. Put more financial emphasis on engineering department, where the core work gets done. This is the core competence of the whole company and also what has been widely done in the leading tech companies.

I have been working at Cognex full-time

    Pros

Cognex is a different and innovative company. Its a mixture of east coast business attitude when dealing with customers, and west coast start up mentality when working as a team and bonding.

    Cons

Some managers are not great team players. Increasing team size to meet demand can be slow.
