    I have been working at Cogniance full-time

    Pros

    - Great working environment, lots of smart people;
    - Work on start-ups projects, which is always interesting;
    - Very "family" and people oriented culture;
    - Silicon Valley DNA of the company;
    - Laid back and informal relationships with management.

    Cons

    - Company goes through pains of growth, lots of uncertainty:
    - Strategy is quite uncertain and unclear to most employees;
    - Because of laid back and almost "family like" company structure middle management is "disconnected" from each other and there seem to be no common vision and goals.

    Advice to Management

    - Clarify vision and strategy for the company;
    - Strengthen mid-management communication and role in a team work.

    Negative Outlook

    Pros

    Used to be the "culture" and overall employee treatment and value. In the past, it was all about recognition and fair wages.

    Cons

    Cogniance turned into a soul-sucking machine for talent and great professionals. Everyone is disposable it seems, whether you're a dev. or a sales rep.

    If you're looking to fill in the role of any sales related position, just don't bother. Don't bother learning about the company and its' names. You will not last for long. Period. It doesn't matter how much you do for the company. No such a thing as employee retention or loyalty.

    Advice to Management

    Maybe it's time to get your head out of.... and get your good name back. Your system is rotting inside-out. Make Cogniance great again. Oh, and please hire educated middle managers that deal with geographical clusters and know nothing about geography. It's embarrassing.
