I worked at Cognosante full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Best reason, to work at Cognosante, is the learning experience that I had in the Health Insurance industry.

    Cons

The Health Insurance distribution section of the company is up to par with similar organizations. However, it lacks in the technology and the way it distributes the information to the community.

I have been working at Cognosante full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Opportunities for high performers to move up. Ability to work 100% remote.

    Cons

    1. Terrible Benefits: Insurance is awful to begin with, but now they want you to pay an additional $150/month to cover your spouse while reducing the benefits and increasing the base price as well. Vacation time is terrible also. 11 days/year. 2. No bonus. Ever. This is the only tech company I've ever worked for which does not offer a bonus. 3. 3% raise is the upper end. Count on reducing your effective income every year you work for Cognosante. 4. Authoritarian regime. They recently moved their helpdesk without considering the effect it would have on staffing. In order to cover their lack of staffing, they demanded that people volunteer to cover helpdesk shifts on weekends/night shift. The benefit to you? You get to work a 24 hour straight shift, but hey, you get tomorrow off. Yay. When there were not enough volunteers (for obvious reasons) they started handing out assignments. How about some extra vacation time for all this? Nope. No bonus money, no additional vacation time, no nothing. The company pocketed a TON of extra money on this move. Obviously this will go to the pockets of executive staff. They shifted the negative impact off onto their employees, as usual. 5. Insurance Audits. They pay a 3rd party company to conduct audits to see whether or not they can legally kick all of your dependents off of your insurance. You're given 30 days to respond to their demands for documentation or else they simply kick all of your dependents off your benefits.

I have been working at Cognosante full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Company is relatively small. My direct reporting manager was honest, listened, and was active with the team. Lots of remote opportunities.

    Cons

Company going through growing pains. Lots of departments are understaffed. The environment is highly stressful and is causing people to become burned out. They are loosing more people then they are able to hire. In some cases the position and responsibilities illustrated during the interview process is not an accurate portrayal of the current situation.
