    Pros

You can meet some interesting and cool people. It is good experience to put on a resume, but not particularly a career.

    Cons

Management does not have the employees in mind. It is an extremely client focused and only client focused business.

    Advice to Management

If you care about your employees, show them. Not by buying them gifts, or pizza. Just show them. If they are an asset to the team and/or company, express that regularly and they will not consider leaving. Should care more about people and not as much about irrelevant awards the company may or may not win.

That said, if you like a lot of turnover, keep up the great work!

    Pros

Cohn & Wolfe has been on fire the past few years and it's an exciting, dynamic place to work. I love the energy, the dedication and the drive to win among my colleagues. I also love the agency's commitment to pushing creative boundaries and encouraging us to learn new skills and technologies.

    Cons

Similar to other PR agencies, the work is hard and the days can be long.

    Advice to Management

    Keep pushing for greatness!

I worked at Cohn & Wolfe full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company does very well and there are a lot of opportunities to work on different projects. However, whether you get a good manager is hit or miss. There are a lot of company initiatives to try and get you to meet new people, get involved in the company (but due to meeting after meeting, nobody really attends). A lot of the pros are negated by the cons due to management not concerning themselves with the wellness and career development of their employees

    Cons

Many people dread talking to their supe about anything.

    Low pay, long hours.

People are very rigid, lots of red tape and a "we do it THIS way mentality"

They will try and keep you there late even if there is no work to be done.

    Advice to Management

Recognize when people aren't happy or how you speak to colleagues. Try and be mentors rather than cattle drivers.

A LOT of employee appreciation events
    Some cool accounts/clients

    Cons

Work life balance can be challenging at times
Each department differs in clients and stress levels

    Advice to Management

Management is good for the most part - Be more understanding and listen to employee concerns

    Pros

Large agency that offers more resources than smaller companies but still maintains a home-like feel; incredibly smart employees, ranging from junior staff to senior leadership; heavy emphasis on creativity and pushing the envelope in all things; values/recognizes high-quality work from teams and individuals; always seeks opportunities to unite employees under common goals; impressive client roster that allows for team shifts based on personal interests and skills.

    Cons

Heavy workload, as with all PR agencies, but this can often be addressed if clearly vocalized.

    Advice to Management

Continue to show employees how much you value their work, and loyalty will follow. Remember that even "work horses" (at all levels) have limits, so be on the lookout for those who are struggling or dealing with high stress.

I have been working at Cohn & Wolfe full-time

    Pros

Cohn & Wolfe is a great place for junior staff to work. Teams give great opportunities to lower level employees, including direct client liaison, travel, owning projects, etc. The culture is also pretty great too. Summer Fridays, birthday breakfasts every month, beer on Fridays, etc.

    Cons

Work/life balance is not great. It depends on your team, but there a few managers who work crazy hours, such as come in at 10:30 and leave at 8 and expect their teams to stay. Some managers are also extremely unreasonable when it comes to your time.

    Advice to Management

Understand that when junior staff are juggling different busy accounts, they might need help prioritizing. Don't get mad at them if they have other work to do that's not on your account. Also, the communication between managers and direct reports needs to be better. I never know when someone is leaving the company.

    Pros

Great place to work; smart people with big ideas AND the ability to execute on them.

    Cons

    work/life balance is tricky...at times

    Advice to Management

Continue to keep pulse on what you're doing. Define leadership roles at mid- to upper-level a little more clearly.
