I worked at Cohn & Wolfe full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

This is great place to work for young college grads looking to gain great experience and make new friends. There are frequently office parties, happy hours, buddy lunches and other events to help build a tight knit company culture.

    Cons

Salaries and raises are on the low end.

    Advice to Management

    Improve salary bands.

    Pros

    - Lots of internal resources and client opportunities on a global scale
    - Atmosphere is fun and fast paced

    Cons

    - Fast pace leads to disorganized management
    - HR doesn't always get back to you
    - Understaffed. Most have more client work then they can handle
    - Work-life balance is non-existent

    Advice to Management

Prioritize professional growth and hire more staff!

    Pros

They do good work and attempt to have a strong company culture. They have big name clients and you will get to do interesting stuff. They pay well.

    Cons

You are just a number and not an actual human to these people. There's also no work-life balance whatsoever and you're expected to work long/late hours with no thanks for the extra effort.

I have been working at Cohn & Wolfe full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The agency is unlike any other and that's a great thing. The way the business is run is so unique, and I appreciate the company's different yet grounded business model.

People are appreciated for being people, not numbers and I truly hope that stays consistent. Clients are valued partners and the whole concept of being a "vendor" has been extinct.

Because the agency is so small (presently), it feels very home-like. It's a great environment for people to grow and shine while learning from smart senior and exec leaders who are truly some of the most genuine, smartest and kindest people I've met.

    Cons

What company doesn't have its ups and downs? As someone with many years of experience, I know that challenges within companies are fluid. So it wouldn't be fair to capture one or two moments in time where I felt like things were at a disadvantage to staff.

You will work long hours no matter what agency you choose - that's the case here and anywhere else. Just find a balance and you'll get there.

    Advice to Management

Please continue to show appreciation for all staff levels and look for ways to give back a little for folks who've worked so hard, especially managers. Do everything you can to preserve the great culture that's thriving well, and encourage people to leave early on certain days if they can - a little gesture or thank you goes a long way.

    Pros

Most of the employees are very nice people. Great perks including lunch and learns, happy hours and book club. Very credible agency.

    Cons

No one is happy working here. Incredibly understaffed, which causes everyone to have too much work for their own good. No work-life balance whatsoever. People work incredibly long hours and do not get recognized or rewarded for their hard work. It's upsetting because most of the employees are really great people but they are always stressed and unhappy. You have no say in the clients you work on and oftentimes get stuck working on accounts you do not enjoy. More junior level employees' tasks are admin-heavy.

    Advice to Management

    Hire more employees

I have been working at Cohn & Wolfe full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I think that for PR, Cohn & Wolfe does a fairly good job at maintaining a good work life balance and stressing the importance of this. The company culture is also fun and most of the people there are super friendly and great.

    Cons

I think each individual's experience truly depends on the team they are on - some teams are more/ less hierarchical than others, more/ less clique-y than others, etc., and it is very hard to get switched off a team that you don't want to be on.

    Advice to Management

Put more energy into developing and supporting junior staff. It seems like everyone is always talking about a high turnover rate in the junior level, but no one seems to be doing much about it.

Very dynamic, collaborative environment with a solid roster of clients so there is room to grow professionally within. Very conducive environment for self starters. There's also any resources in house available to account teams.

    Cons

People can get spread too thin.
