    I worked at Cohn & Wolfe full-time

    Pros

Prestigious clients, (sometimes) interesting work, occasional perks

    Cons

Pay is not competitive. They take advantage of entry-level employees (normally recent grads new to the labor market) by working them like salaried employees, but with no benefits or overtime. High turnover rate.

    Advice to Management

Pay Account Coordinators overtime and offer health insurance, travel stipends, sick and vacation days

    Pros

-The hours aren’t so bad (compared to a lot of PR firms)
    -Generally the staff is nice
-They give you alcohol on Fridays at 4PM

    Cons

-Whenever anyone is very stressed they can be extremely rude
-lack of opportunity for career growth
    -lack of learning opportunities
-the newer employees don’t get much respect
-you are tasked with large projects and given barely any time to do them

    Advice to Management

Value your newer employees as you told them you would and show them the respect that they were told they would get before joining C&W. Also provide the learning opportunities you said there would be. Don’t over promise and under deliver.

    Pros

Great people and strong entertainment practice. Good creativity lead out of the LA office.

    Cons

Poor management that does not encourage growth. NYC controls all the budgets, so satellite offices like Western Region get crumbs, so limited growth opportunities. A lot of politics and red tape.

    Advice to Management

Work on the softer side of agency work. It is not just about the bottom line. People are your biggest commodity. Treat them better.

    Pros

They do good work and attempt to have a strong company culture. They have big name clients and you will get to do interesting stuff. They pay well.

    Cons

You are just a number and not an actual human to these people. There's also no work-life balance whatsoever and you're expected to work long/late hours with no thanks for the extra effort.
