I worked at Cohn & Wolfe full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

    - Lots of internal resources and client opportunities on a global scale - Atmosphere is fun and fast paced

    Cons

    - Fast pace leads to disorganized management - HR doesn't always get back to you - Understaffed. Most have more client work then they can handle - Work-life balance is non-existent

    Advice to Management

Prioritize professional growth and hire more staff!

I have been working at Cohn & Wolfe

    Pros

Most of the employees are very nice people. Great perks including lunch and learns, happy hours and book club. Very credible agency.

    Cons

No one is happy working here. Incredibly understaffed, which causes everyone to have too much work for their own good. No work-life balance whatsoever. People work incredibly long hours and do not get recognized or rewarded for their hard work. It's upsetting because most of the employees are really great people but they are always stressed and unhappy. You have no say in the clients you work on and oftentimes get stuck...

I have been working at Cohn & Wolfe full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

I think that for PR, Cohn & Wolfe does a fairly good job at maintaining a good work life balance and stressing the importance of this. The company culture is also fun and most of the people there are super friendly and great.

    Cons

I think each individual's experience truly depends on the team they are on - some teams are more/ less hierarchical than others, more/ less clique-y than others, etc., and it is very hard to get switched off a team that you don't want to be on.

    Advice to Management

Put more energy into developing and supporting junior staff. It seems like everyone is always talking about a high turnover rate in the junior level, but no one seems to be doing much about it.

I have been working at Cohn & Wolfe full-time

      Pros

Very dynamic, collaborative environment with a solid roster of clients so there is room to grow professionally within. Very conducive environment for self starters. There's also any resources in house available to account teams.

      Cons

People can get spread too thin.

I worked at Cohn & Wolfe full-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

You can meet some interesting and cool people. It is good experience to put on a resume, but not particularly a career.

      Cons

Management does not have the employees in mind. It is an extremely client focused and only client focused business.

      Advice to Management

If you care about your employees, show them. Not by buying them gifts, or pizza. Just show them. If they are an asset to the team and/or company, express that regularly and they will not consider leaving. Should care more about people and not as much about irrelevant awards the company may or may not win. That said, if you like a lot of turnover, keep up the great work!

I have been working at Cohn & Wolfe full-time for more than 6 years

      Pros

Cohn & Wolfe has been on fire the past few years and it's an exciting, dynamic place to work. I love the energy, the dedication and the drive to win among my colleagues. I also love the agency's commitment to pushing creative boundaries and encouraging us to learn new skills and technologies.

      Cons

Similar to other PR agencies, the work is hard and the days can be long.

      Advice to Management

      Keep pushing for greatness!

I worked at Cohn & Wolfe full-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

The company does very well and there are a lot of opportunities to work on different projects. However, whether you get a good manager is hit or miss. There are a lot of company initiatives to try and get you to meet new people, get involved in the company (but due to meeting after meeting, nobody really attends). A lot of the pros are negated by the cons due to management not concerning themselves with the wellness and...

      Cons

Many people dread talking to their supe about anything. Low pay, long hours. People are very rigid, lots of red tape and a "we do it THIS way mentality" They will try and keep you there late even if there is no work to be done.

      Advice to Management

Recognize when people aren't happy or how you speak to colleagues. Try and be mentors rather than cattle drivers.
