I have been working at Cohn & Wolfe

    Pros

Most of the employees are very nice people. Great perks including lunch and learns, happy hours and book club. Very credible agency.

    Cons

No one is happy working here. Incredibly understaffed, which causes everyone to have too much work for their own good. No work-life balance whatsoever. People work incredibly long hours and do not get recognized or rewarded for their hard work. It's upsetting because most of the employees are really great people but they are always stressed and unhappy. You have no say in the...

I worked at Cohn & Wolfe full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

The company does very well and there are a lot of opportunities to work on different projects. However, whether you get a good manager is hit or miss. There are a lot of company initiatives to try and get you to meet new people, get involved in the company (but due to meeting after meeting, nobody really attends). A lot of the pros are negated by the cons due to management not concerning themselves with the wellness and...

    Cons

Many people dread talking to their supe about anything. Low pay, long hours. People are very rigid, lots of red tape and a "we do it THIS way mentality" They will try and keep you there late even if there is no work to be done.

    Advice to Management

Recognize when people aren't happy or how you speak to colleagues. Try and be mentors rather than cattle drivers.

I have been working at Cohn & Wolfe full-time

    Pros

People really care about each other and the work that they are doing. The work is interesting and rewarding, and if you have an idea (clients who view you as a partner versus "the agency"), you are welcomed to present it and execute it. This is truly a big-tique firm. Plus, the CEO rolls up her sleeves and helps -- she knows your name and face -- and our practice leaders know you, how you are dating, where you live, etc...

    Cons

There can be long hours and politics just like anywhere of course, but it's all manageable and its up to you to leave on time when you can. Net-net, you control your own destiny.

    Advice to Management

Continue to help people manage burn out and ensure that you focus on people's strengths versus weaknesses. Also, less mandatory activities are a good thing! Please also pulse out more POV from the top in creative ways.

    Pros

Friendly, talented people who are aspired to achieve the best. Friendly CEO and practice leads.

    Cons

Long hours, with very or little work life balance. Sometimes obvious favouritism which needs to be ironed out.

    Advice to Management

Although its PR, it shouldn't be required that an individual has to PR themselves - notice those who go unnoticed on a day to day
