"one of the worst agencies i've worked for"

      I worked at Cohn & Wolfe full-time

      Pros

They do good work and attempt to have a strong company culture. They have big name clients and you will get to do interesting stuff. They pay well.

      Cons

You are just a number and not an actual human to these people. There's also no work-life balance whatsoever and you're expected to work long/late hours with no thanks for the extra effort.

I have been working at Cohn & Wolfe

      Pros

Most of the employees are very nice people. Great perks including lunch and learns, happy hours and book club. Very credible agency.

      Cons

No one is happy working here. Incredibly understaffed, which causes everyone to have too much work for their own good. No work-life balance whatsoever. People work incredibly long hours and do not get recognized or rewarded for their hard work. It's upsetting because most of the employees are really great people but they are always stressed and unhappy. You have no say in the clients you work on and oftentimes get stuck...

I worked at Cohn & Wolfe full-time for more than a year

      Pros

There were some cool people. The best I got out of people was when I left the company.

      Cons

No work life balance, poor culture, poor middle management.

      Advice to Management

Pay more attention to middle management and make sure they're giving constructive criticism not demeaning the entry level staff.

I worked at Cohn & Wolfe for more than a year

      Pros

Cohn& Wolfe is a great environment to start in as an intern (they call them account coordinators). You can get a lot of good hands on experience

      Cons

There is absolutely no work-life balance to speak of. In the interview, they mentioned that said that most people worked until 6 but in reality most people in the office dont leave until seven or eight, even the interns

      Advice to Management

Its great that they give their interns so much experience but they should not be staying until eight every night.

I worked at Cohn & Wolfe full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Some nice colleagues; Summer Friday's (but you can't actually HAVE them!)

      Cons

Vindictive supervisors, no work life balance, low pay, miscommunication, high turnover rate of staff at every level.

      Advice to Management

Things may have shifted, but when I was at Cohn & Wolfe in SF the hours were nuts and all our supervisors seemed to have very little connection to staff. Management was removed from daily life, leading to unreasonable expectations of our team. They also held onto one particular manager to made life hell for many of us (lots of crying in the bathroom). I lasted just under a year before I gave my notice.

I worked at Cohn & Wolfe full-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

Variety of interesting and creative work with input from all levels (especially juniors) encouraged, positive and collaborative atmosphere, motivational managers and intelligent people, lots of opportunity for juniors, some variety of training and openness to feedback from all levels, and good benefits!

      Cons

Poor quality and slow management processes (concerns not addressed promptly), some favouritism and improper relationships between individuals and little-to-no work life balance (even though an appropriate work life balance is encouraged) due to ineffective resourcing (despite best efforts)

      Advice to Management

Value your employees and resource appropriately
