I have been working at CohnReznick full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Lots of PTOs (4 weeks at first year associate), Spacious cubes (big NO to hoteling), flexible schedule and supportive management. The WomenCan program, the sponsorship program, the mentoring and buddy system... the company wants you to succeed and is there every step of the way to help you achieve your goal!

    Cons

Pay is about industrial average, client needs to be more diversified.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

I worked at CohnReznick full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The people are so nice. The clients are diverse and interesting ranging in all sizes and industries. Hours outside of busy season are laid back. Good amount of PTO.

    Cons

Very small bonuses. Busy season = con, but definitely better than Big 4. Not many cons for a public accounting firm.

    Advice to Management

Compensate your people, have fun perks, add some team bonding events. Get to know your staff and make them feel like they actually matter. You have smart talented people, do something to keep them.

    Pros

Great people, challenging work, good clients

    Cons

No bonuses for seniors and staff

    Advice to Management

We audit a ton of 401ks which makes it that much sadder that we see everyone else's match but we don't get one

I worked at CohnReznick full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The office was fairly spacious and conducive to work. Often there would be lunches and birthday celebrations for the employees and the end of busy season parties were always fun.

    Cons

Too much emphasis is placed on billable hours and the environment is very political. Not enough support from management and HR does not help the staff. Also, the trainings were not effective. Pay is also lower than industry and they provide no contributions for 401k or retirement.

    Advice to Management

Provide more support to your seniors and focus on staff development. Also, start contributing something to employees' 401k.

I have been working at CohnReznick

    Pros

Lots of vacation time. Ability to move up quickly, if you fit the cookie cutter mold. Strong salary and benfits package relative to the industry. Summer months often are not busy, and provide a nice break from the rigors of busy season. Strong staff and seniors have more opportunities to work on a variety of clients outside of busy season. Employees can take on as much additional responsibility as they want.

    Cons

After several years, I have very little experience that will transfer to another job, including public accounting, because the firm focuses almost exclusively on Real Estate. Performance reviews are often vague or based on the person's reputation. Management is extremely focused on meeting budgets, while staff and senior's compensation is heavily weigted toward the number of billable hours. Promotions beyod the Senior...

    Advice to Management

Management should do a better job of trying to spread the work load evenly among teams and individuals. Management also needs to do a better job of controlling their "gossip" amongst themselves; each staff member should be evaluated on his or her merits that were directly observed by the evaluator, not on what the evaluator heard from the staff's supervisor from 2 years ago. The internal marketing campaign is insulting...

    I worked at CohnReznick

    Pros

Pay scale and vacation/PTO time. They are electronic workpapers so that is a plus

    Cons

Poor managment skills, It's more of a sweat shop than true accounting/auditing experience.

    Advice to Management

I advise management to really take a step back and get an understanding of each employee needs. They don't focus on being a great place to work. The is little time to really understanding and gain knowledge of accounting treatments if they are using a system doing the audit for you. So the staff is really learning how to use the audit program which are skills that won't be able to take with them. Just not an ideal...

I have been working at CohnReznick

    Pros

Reznick offers a great potential to advance in your career. The atmostphere is very outsgoing, fun and friendly and all levels of management and employees are approachable and helpful. The employees seem to get a long great and a lot of people find really great friends through their work at Reznick. Due to the young atmosphere, entering associates find it easy to adjust to working life after leaving college.

    Cons

Reznick does not have consistency throughout the firm. Each group does things differently which makes life hard for associates. In addition, some employees are given a very large amount of responsibility while others at the same level are able to 'float' by. Overloading stress and responsibilities on some employees when others are available is not fair to either employee.

    Advice to Management

Increase communication throughout the firm. Having more consistency would be a great idea. At times when changes are made, ensuring that senior associates and associates are made aware of the changes could help tremendously. Also, ensuring that employees are given work evenly throughout the firm could help employees feel less stress in knowing that everyone is working as hard and has the same amount of responsibility.
