I worked at CohnReznick full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I worked in the Boston office tax department for a few years and ultimately had a good experience. I learned a lot, made some good connections, and this experience helped take my career to the next level.

    Cons

There were people that came and went over the years I worked there who acted unprofessionally (inconsiderate of others) on a consistent basis and this behavior was, at times, tolerated and/or not addressed as soon as I would have liked it to be.

    Advice to Management

I was most impressed with management, especially their open door policy and commitment to continually improving the department. Keep it up.

I have been working at CohnReznick

    Pros

Flex schedule during non busy season. Decent dinner during busy season. Some coworkers are smart/nice

    Cons

Culture is very fake. People like to play politics here to get bonus/promotion. Management is very bias. Very high turnover this past couple years and they’re having a hard time recruiting good candidates. The past couple classes of new associates were just average B C students. I feel that they hire just about anyone who applied. Compensation is way below industry average. Management doesnt seem to care about the employees...

    Advice to Management

Compensate properly. Care about employees more.

I have been working at CohnReznick full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

It is a national firm with a small firm community feeling. Great resources and great people. Working in a large office has been great.

    Cons

Apparently the people and culture in each office varies significantly. Not great for intracompany transfers. Clients are sometimes sub par.

I have been working at CohnReznick full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Excellent co-workers, each person has a coach and a buddy which helps to improve their own skills. Great amount of Paid time off

    Cons

A lot of busy season hours, but it gets paid with the amount of days off and some months are really slow.

    Advice to Management

Incentive more entry level associates to get their CPA faster.

I have been working at CohnReznick full-time for more than a year

    Pros

-Great work/life balance (outside of tax season) -Employee benefits that come with working for a large national firm -"Young" culture; lots of opportunities to play sports, get involved with event planning, community service, etc. -Provide CPA study resources to employees

    Cons

-No 401(k) match -Antiquated expense-reimbursement process that could take weeks to get reimbursed -As with any public accounting firm, you're going to work longer hours than all of your non-CPA friends

I have been working at CohnReznick for more than a year

    Pros

-Young office environment can make it fun to work with peers and make friends. -Recent office renovation has made room for a bigger kitchen and outdoor eating space.

    Cons

-HR and management seek out employee feedback but don't seem to take any into consideration when making decisions, big or small. -Work/life balance is bad. Even outside of the busier seasons, work never slows down.

    I worked at CohnReznick

    Pros

Above average PTO. Meals provided in tax season. Nice new office spaces. Strong specialty groups with good resources and expertise. SALT, International, national tax, etc have strong expertise. Firm is full of genuinely nice people.

    Cons

Trending towards large firm culture without the added benefits. Working more hours gets you ahead. Firm lack direction. Extremely limited industry groups. Most industries the firm concentrates on will leave you stuck in public accounting for the rest of your career.

    Advice to Management

If you want to becomore like the larger national firms, compensation and benefits need to be in line with expectations. As it stands you work all of the hours of Big 4 with none of the quality of experience, prestige, compensation, or benefits. You need to strike the right balance between what you expect and what your employees get out of the firm for their own career.

I have been working at CohnReznick for more than a year

    Pros

Intelligent people to work under. Opportunity is there to grow and learn if you really try.

    Cons

Offices are severely understaffed, and while they get applications they can't seem to hire people so the work life balance they promote is not realistic. There are hours minimums during busy season but you don't end up working much less during the summer.
