I have been working at Colby-Sawyer College full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

No matter the department, you will always find coworkers who care deeply about their specific role and how they play a larger part in the college community. Everyone is dedicated to supporting the students, from faculty to staff. Nice people, ready to laugh with you as well as work with you.

    Cons

Small town, have to drive at least thirty minutes to get to a bigger local. School is settling into a smaller size, so opportunities are limited at the moment.

I worked at Colby-Sawyer College part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I got to access to copier room and supply closet and got to work with different instructors. I was able to access to office 24/7.

    Cons

It pays very low even for work study it should be at least 8.25. Another thing is the hours it is limited to 10. I think at least 20 hours would be helpful.

I have been working at Colby-Sawyer College full-time

    Pros

Excellent community of people with opportunities to grow professionally. Generous benefit package and a positive work environment.

    Cons

Salary is below average, but comfortable in the low-cost area. Not much dining variety in town when needing an alternative to on-campus dining.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your staff whom you have hired to be professionals in their role. Hiring more support staff pays off in the long term rather than expensive outsourcing.

Sometimes, it feels too small; but I don't complain, as I like such an environment.

I worked at Colby-Sawyer College full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people who work there (most of them) are great and really value their work with students (and one another).

    Cons

The pay was terrible for the amount of things I was asked to do and the amount of work expected. Salary in residence life is not great across the board, but this was especially dismal.
