I worked at Coldwater Creek full-time

I worked at Coldwater Creek full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

My peers were great to work with.

    Cons

No work / life balance. Unreasonable expectations. Poor leadership. Most of upper management does not address employee concerns. Turnover is extremely high because the expectations far outweigh what is reasonable.

    Advice to Management

The organization is no longer a start up. There is a great team at Coldwater Creek, Your expectations of them is not realistic. You will continue to lose great employees until real changes are made. Word travels quickly, Stop using the 'start up' line as an excuse and do something meaningful for the people you have left. Most of them are already looking and will leave as soon a reasonable opportunity presents itself unless something drastic is done immediately.

I worked at Coldwater Creek full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Salary is competitive and they offer sample sale to the employees.

    Cons

While the company offers flex time there is no work life balance. The hours are long (avg 11 hours a day) people work nights at home and weekends. While the company is growing at a fast pace they are not investing in the people or adding head count in the right departments. There is no growth opportunity as they will hire from the outside before they promote within. Senior management does not take responsibility for there decisions and quick to point fingers. In the last three months the turnover rate has been extremely high at 25% beware. The PTO is less than desirable.

    Advice to Management

When the company first relaunched it was a great place to work everyone worked together as a team to get the work done. Something happened along the way and the appreciation went away and turned into fingering pointing which created a toxic environment

I worked at Coldwater Creek full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fun atmosphere, my manager was amazing. I loved the people I worked with.

    Cons

The pay was low, could have a better compensation plan. More commission based.

    Advice to Management

I had been a loyal customer for over a decade before I started working for Cold Water Creek. I loved the clothes!!! Over the two years I worked there the company went a completely different direction with the clothing line. To be blunt...the line was just plain UGULY!!! Please rethink your buying strategy!

There were really no cons other than unreasonable customers but that is to be expected in retail.
