I worked at Coldwater Creek part-time

    Pros

Easy interview process, Nice coworkers, advanced technology

    Cons

Management wasn't understanding of physical limitations of employees. Even when no one was in the store, we weren't allowed to sit down. Shifts would be changed with little notice.

I worked at Coldwater Creek full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

great location, great staff, great customers

    Cons

lack of support, 2 of the 3 District Managers I had worked with were not very diplomatic. setups were crammed into one week and then a week of quiet then a week of chaos...tried to take vacation twice and was asked to work instead. had a total of one week vacation in 3 years.

    Advice to Management

understand that not all stores are alike. Allow managers to manage their store by their demographics and traffic patterns

    Positive Outlook

I worked at Coldwater Creek full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

They used to have company picnics, wine at late afternoon meetings, and a fair bit of random fun like late afternoon mixers - all of that helped offset the demanding work schedule expected of nearly everyone.

    Cons

The company as I knew it has dissolved, though I expect it will be resurrected from the ashes. It was the best horse to ride in that tiny, beautiful, one-horse town, at least while it lasted.

    Advice to Management

Avoid Founder's Syndrome (which should be easier now that he's finally out of the picture, from what I've read).

    Pros

You could get a discount on some of the best and most useful items, including some really nice current costume jewelry.

    Cons

The hours were crazy. I wish they would keep the employees to even a semi-regular schedule, because every week was different.

    Advice to Management

Please work on making manageable schedules so that we could get to know some of the regular customers and develop a relationship with them.

    Pros

The management in the Grosse Pointe store was very good. There was a real team atmosphere.

    Cons

Very little pay for the amount of work. Especially for the people working on shipment or doing display changes at
night or in the very early morning.

    Pros

Though the company has closed, the best reason to work there is the discounts.

    Cons

Dealing with back-stabbing co-worker and lax management..

    Advice to Management

Make sure to treat everyone fairly - stop playing favorites.
