I worked at Coles (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Work in team in coles were the best interesting part of my job . It creates people self strong , motivated , multi skill knowledge .

    Cons

It takes a phenomenal amount of self-discipline to start work when you know you don't have to be at the office by 8 a.m.
You are the only person around all day, so there is no outside pressure to be busy.
    You must be entirely self-motivated.
You miss out on the camaraderie that stems from working with others day after day.
There are no coworkers to go to lunch with.

    Advice to Management

    Focus on Quality .

    Pros

Work environment has been significantly improved since Ian McLeod came on board - more open and friendly atmosphere, supportive teams, good leadership.

    Cons

Insufficient parking allocations, poor catering, new open plan seating arrangements a little too cramped in some departments and very male-dominated environment.

    Advice to Management

Offer more opportunities for lower level staff to participate in decision-making activities in order to get more involved in the business.

I have been working at Coles (More than a year)

    Pros

    -Casual salary is very decent.
-Pretty supportive team, willing to help if you are clueless.
-Give at leat 1-2 shifts per week as a casual.
-Accepting of days that I cannot work (probably because I always say yes when on call).

    Cons

-Training seemed a tad rushed, but you really learn when on the job.
-No real follow ups after first couple of shifts.
-I'm not good at saying 'no' so being asked to work on the day can be annoying if you already have plans. But that's probably a part of being an on call casual.
-Managers can come across as unenthusiastic at times (probably because they are really busy, but it would be nice just to have a more happy management team to bring up the mood).
